ParticipantHi Imre,
Do you know what type of server you are running on? Do you have an example event with an image I can test out?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Imre,
Strange, it’s importing with the image fine for me. Are you getting any error? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to see if that helps? Please also try creating a Facebook App ID as instructed here: https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-create-a-facebook-app-id/
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah,
Do I need to have the pro version of the Events Calendar for this?February 7, 2013 at 9:53 pm #32328Jonah
ParticipantHi Imre, no you don’t need to have PRO to import images from Facebook. Can you please answer my above questions?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah, yes I disabled all plugins, facebook app is as instructed. I do get an error on manual import:
The following errors have occurred:
“picture?type=large&access_token=404935409546807|vzHtzdfYYsK8X2vcliYSxEJvO0c” is not a valid image.
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported. If I’m running the import as automatic (scheduled) there are no errors.

ParticipantHi Imre,
Ok thank you. I’ll need to have a developer take a look at this because I’m not sure what else to do. That’s strange that it works for the automatic imports. I’ll make note of this to the developer. Stay tuned.
Thanks,

ParticipantSorry, I must have phrased my last sentence wrong: it doesn’t work either with automatic import, there is just no error displayed.
Events are getting imported though, (description, location etc), except the image.

ParticipantHi Imre,
I just wanted to follow up and let you know our developer who works on the FB plugin is out until Monday and I will do my best to make sure he takes a look at this then.
Sorry for any further delay and inconvenience this may have caused. We’ll get it to as soon as we can.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah, thanks for the update. Any news on a possible fix please?

ParticipantHi Imre,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I’ve been discussing with our lead developer for this plugin, and it came to light that in the recent weeks we’ve noticed various compatibility issues with the recent changes in the Facebook API and other minor bug fixes we’d like to address.
This process involved in depth inspection of our code, and resolving known issues previously patched with gists in the forum. We are currently are in QA mode and are planning to release a new version shortly. Items this new version will address include, but are not limited to: images failing to import, failing to remove http timeouts, organizer data mismatch, and timezone discrepancies.
As soon as we release the new version, I’ll post back here but you will also see the upgrade notification within the WordPress administration. Feel free to update away when it’s ready.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
