It is really a pity that the split payment function doesn’t work.
Now that I have to collect all the payments myself then re-distribute MANUALlY to each event organiser, is there an alternative to facilitate the process a bit more?

Ok many thanks Cliff. I need to wait for my web developer to come back from the holidays in order to test your code. Thanks for providing the extension and I will let you know the outcome.

    Happy New Year Barry.

I haven’t heard from Paypal yet.
In the meantime, wouldn’t it be helpful that EC runs a trial with Live Mode so that you know what has been changed on the paypal side and maybe you could update your knowledge base accordingly and thoroughly? Just an idea…

    Many thanks Geoff.

I will ask my developer to take a look at the snippet, but I think I can put up with some manual work for now.

I just wonder if this problem occurs only in my individual case, and if not, hopefully this can be fixed with the next upgrade.

For the second issue, after manually switched it to “complete”, a right order email with the right price AND the ticket were issued, so it’s pretty much fine.

Thanks again Geoff for your supports all the way through the holiday seasons. Much appreciated!

    Hi Cliff,

I’m confused. So instead of the User Role Editor plugin that you recommended earlier, I should use User Switching plugin instead?

As for your suggested scenarios, I’ve already tested without any plugin. I have created a, say, User A (non-admin) to list an event, and then log out, and log in again with a User B (non-admin). User B can still see User A’s O/V in the dropdown menu – the only difference is that it shows in “available venue / organiser” rather than “my venue / organiser”. Below is a screenshot FYI.

I dont understand what would be the difference by installing those plugins you suggested since these two users are already registered as non-admin.

    Please advice, thanks.

Thanks Geoff for your quick reply during the holiday seasons!

I activated the system information. As for order status history, where can I get such information? In order note, it says “Order status changed from Pending Payment to Completed.” – if that’s what you refer to?

Thanks as well for your instructions for my 3rd question. I will ask my developer to take a look.

    Hi Cliff,

    Thanks for trying to help.

Ok I’ve installed the plugin. The question for me is how can I disable the vendors to see others’ O/V? Which capabilities shall I look into specifically?

ok thanks Barry. Guess for now I can do nothing but wait responses from Paypal. Will follow up this topic next year then.

Yes, I also start to realise that the problem is derived from the fact that Paypal has changed a lot since your plugin had been developed, and that’s probably why your knowledge base seems misleading / obsolete. I’m trying to get more assistance from Paypal now at least to be sure of the validity of the Live APP ID. However, I do think EC has the responsibility to review the setup process regularly, or at least to keep your knowledge base up-to-date. Or otherwise, for whoever bought the plugin, this would just be an extremely frustrating trial-and-error process, which cannot even guarantee it would eventually work.

Alternatively, we are wondering if there’s any recent successful case for using the split payment function in live mode in your community, and if possible, whether they could share their knowledge as to what are the key steps that shall not be overlooked either on EC or PP side.

I just read the entire thread regarding the same issue earlier this year here

It was insightful but it also shows that some issues are just repetitive, and sadly it didn’t end up with any successful solution, nor got fully solved with your latest version.

To be sure, I’ve updated the Paypal Application ID (Events settings -> Community) with the newly-approved live App ID from Paypal (please confirm it’s the right way to do, as it is not what has been said in knowledge base); and I also made all my paypal accounts verified. This also turned out to be an important condition but was mentioned nowhere in the knowledge base – and it took me the whole night to figure it out!

Unfortunately the split payment is still not working in live mode. I wonder if anything in WooCommerce needs to be activated or filled out (even we don’t use WooCommerce for now but it’s powered by it if I’m not mistaken).

I will send an updated error log later.
