ParticipantYeah, that’s odd! I am still hoping this is a feature that can be added sooner than later. My client is in the middle of their events right now and it would benefit them greatly if you could visually more of the events in the initial view.

ParticipantIt seems like a person could update the map with the Google Maps setZoom function… if I only I could figure out how to access the map (I was looking at your js map code).
Courtney
ParticipantHi, Josh.
Sure, I can use CSS if that’s the best route. I guess I was thinking because the other label had been updated via code that this should be, too, if only for consistency’s sake.

ParticipantThank you, that worked. Is there also a way to update the lighter gray text below that label? It would be nice to have them all be consistent.
Can you also confirm, then, that fixing this to work for one date is NOT on the docket? In previous conversations here on the forum, I’d been told that this was a known issue, the devs were aware of it, and it would likely be included in a future update. I and my client were really hoping that it could be resolved by January, when our website’s events are actually happening. It seems way more useful to be able to check what events are happening on a particular day (so that you can plan your outing for say a particular Saturday and try to hit as many events that are geographically near each other as you can) than to get events for date range. I’d like to emphasize our enthusiasm for this update if it’s happening is now in question.
Thanks, Courtney

ParticipantHi, Josh.
This doesn’t make any label change, unfortunately. Are you sure this works on map view? I am only using map view on this site.
Courtney
ParticipantThanks, George. I will try this out, but I agree with the other poster that this is a big usability problem, especially for mobile but also on larger screens if the map is big, which by default it is. It seems like it could be a relatively simple update — have a checkbox in the settings for disabling/enabling the “scrollWheel” property. Hopefully it’s something that can make a future update.

ParticipantHi, Josh.
Thanks for the reply. Firstly, the gist code — when I add this to my functions.php, I then get no results on the initial view, which is not correct. So something is sill amiss there.
Secondly, maybe it isn’t a bug… but if not, it’s definitely a usability issue. The filter bar says “Date” which I think the average Joe is going to assume is a particular day in time, not a start date. In previous forum posts about this, I was told that the dev team was aware of this as an issue and are working on a fix… which I hope is still true!
In the meantime, is there a way to update the label? I’m not sure “Events From” works exactly — maybe just “Starting Date” or something. I still just don’t think people would intuitively search in that way.
Thanks, Courtney

ParticipantThanks, I appreciate it!

ParticipantI guess I wasn’t looking closely enough — was thinking that the day filter is what would help. But you’re right; it’s not quite right.
Really hoping MT can get this bug worked out sooner than later… January is when the events on our site will really be active and it would be awesome to have it working more intuitively then. Crossing fingers here…

ParticipantThat works. Thanks!

ParticipantYes, I can see that that’s what it’s doing — zooming out to include all of the events. It makes the zoom settings kind of useless, then, however. I know I’ve used other map plugins where you could set a center point or geolocation. That would be a useful feature addition to this map view and, along with the zoom, could make the map view whatever the developer needs. Would love to see that in a future upgrade.

ParticipantI can do it, thanks.

ParticipantShoot, that’s a bummer. One of the main reasons the client was into using this plugin was for the search by date option. Here’s hoping it gets resolved soon. Thanks for the quick response.
