Given that only this one field has an inline z-index set like this, I think the correct solution is to remove it. (line 4107 of the-events-calendar.class.php) That way the entire bar behaves with the same z-index settings, which I’m sure is what’s intended.

In my case, I need a z-index on that bar <100 because I'm using UberMenu. Ubermenu uses 100-500 to make sure it is on top of stuff, but obviously there could be plenty of others out there with different needs on their sites.

It seems to happen when you open the first instance of the event from outside of wp-admin. For example, go to the event calendar list view, calendar view, etc. Open the single event page for the very first event in the series and choose edit event from the wp-admin bar. Add some text and the update all events. It creates a new slug, even on the first instance.

In addition to this bug, I can’t say that I agree with your design for editing some of the events. Once a WP post is published (event or otherwise), it should have an unchanging, essentially immutable slug. There are very real possibilities that folks have shared a particular URL in RSS, email campaigns, social media, etc. By introducing a new slug and 404’ing the old one, you are creating dead links.

I’m pretty it is not object caching. I am able to turn off the object & transiet cache in WPEngine. When I do that, no changes. Still getting a circular redirect path on recurring events.

If you don’t see the day issue on first page load, simply navigate once or twice to other pages and it will appear.

I don’t use any caching plugins. WPEngine has their own internal caching system that applies to all of their sites. http://wpengine.com/our-infrastructure/

This took me two minutes to replicate on a fresh site. I did the following

    1) create a new WP install
    2) install events calendar 3.1 and events calendar pro 3.1
    3) add your snippet to fix the the rendering
    4) add mini-calendar widget to page
    5) entered a sample event (not sure if this even matters)

Here is the resulting page. Note the erroneous days in the mini-calendar in the footer.

The mini-calendar is broken on your own demo site as well. Should be really easy to troubleshoot from your own site:

Your snippet seems to have solved the problem with the main event calendar, but as trevellyan states, it does nothing to solve the problem with the mini-calendar widget.

The mini-calendar widget is actually more problematic, given how frequently it is viewed across the site on the sidebar. Sometimes it is correct, but most times it is not.

I am see that same error with the mini calendar widget after implementing this fix. Please provide us with a fix for the mini calendar widget. That one appears more often on the site, so is equally problematic.

All of the recurring events I created were with version 3.1, resulting in the circular redirect loop. (My site is seeing the exact same error that you are with wpshindig.

I’m having trouble replicating at the moment, though it did happen a few different times. When I come up with the proper sequence for this I’ll post again.

I am using 3.1. Please make sure that this fix is not tied to your monthly maintenance release schedule. It can’t wait that long.
