ParticipantThanks for testing out the new version and sharing your system info, Christoph .
I am going to try to reproduce your autoimport settings on a testing site. Just so you know it looks like you have about 20 Facebook groups setup to automatically import each time you visit the Import: Facebook page. That definitely is along the lines of a “mass import” that I mentioned earlier, and it is quite possibly the source of the problem. Once you have that many groups going you could theoretically start facing timeouts and incomplete data. But, before changing your settings I want to see if I can reproduce this and then hopefully find a good workaround. Please give me a day to investigate and then report back.
I have one question for you though. Do you remember when you generated your Facebook API key? Was it last month, or last year, or years ago?
Thanks, Christoph.

ParticipantYou are very welcome Torsten. I hope the easier solution (changing the settings in WP Admin > Settings > General) will work. It will cause dates to look like this in some places:
17. September 2015, 13:00 Uhr – 16:30 UhrBut in most places you only display a single time, not a time range. Thus you will usually just see this:
17. September 2015, 13:00 UhrThanks for marking the topic resolved. I will archive it now. Cheers!

ParticipantThanks Kavi for letting us know. We have a few other tweaks to the German translation we are investigating as well. I will look into this and get back to you.
Cheers!

ParticipantGood to know. Thanks for letting us know, Travis. It does look like a very similar problem, if not identical.
In our forums we do our best to keep each topic focused on one user. To that end Travis, would you mind opening a new topic so we can help you? If I were I would specify whether or not you are running version 3.9.4 of Facebook Events. If not I would also post your system information. Your system information can be found in WP Admin > Events > Settings > Help. There is also a fair possibility that this issue could be resulting from a plugin or theme conflict. So if you are in a hurry to find a workaround testing for conflicts (click here for a guide) would not be a bad idea either, and then sharing the result in that topic.
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for following up Matt! I am happy you found a fix that works. Hopefully no one else will have to switch download managers though, we’ll do our best to get this addressed.

ParticipantVery interesting. Thanks for the extra information.
We did do a pretty big overhaul of our Facebook tickets application and released it Yesterday. Facebook updated their API, and so we had to make some changes to keep up with them. Have you updated to Facebook Events 3.9.4 yet? If not, there is a very fair that will solve the problem for all future imports. Malformed venues has been one of the symptoms of newer API keys running on the old API. In order to fix an already imported event, you would need to delete it, empty trash, and reimport.
It is also possible that will not fix it. If you continue experiencing issues would you mind copy/pasting your system information into a private reply here? I would like to have a look at a couple more things. Your system information can be found in WP Admin > Events > Settings > Help.
Thanks Christoph!

ParticipantThanks for your patience Matt. I downloaded their plugin and tested it out. I am able to reproduce that problem. The drop downs appear as bulleted lists instead of drop downs.
I am filing a bug report. A developer of our plugin will then take a look at the other one and see if there is anything we can do to be compatible, or if there is something we need to work with WPDM on. This process unfortunately takes a while though, especially if we do need to work with a second team as then their availability also must play a part. Once a fix is created, then one of both of the plugins will need to release updates to finally correct the issue for you.
I really appreciate you taking the time to report this though. Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

ParticipantThank you very Christoph for keeping track of the Facebook IDs and sharing the examples. That makes it a lot easier to test and replicate.
I just tried importing this event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1562096517378412/ – One that imported without a venue for you. For me the venue populated. When I view in the admin area you can see the venue listed as seen here. In your admin is the Venue completely blank, or is it just incorrect?
If it’s blank, it is possible you are facing timeout issues. When doing a lot of imports at once, and depending on your server a lot might be as few as 5 or as much as 50, the process can timeout and hit or other resource limitations. When that happens the data can be imported improperly. Were you importing multiples at once? If so, how many?
We have been exploring ways to try and improve mass imports. Currently though, there is no good work around save for doing fewer imports at once.
Please let me know! If we can zero in on the probable cause, then we can try and figure out how to fix or work around it.
Cheers!

ParticipantThank you so much Gilles! I really appreciate you reporting back and letting me know what the fix is. I have added that to our internal list of suspected incompatibilities. From there we do our best to fix the problem. First we will need to recreate the problem. Then investigate if it can be fixed and both plugins still behave properly. And if it can, we will reach out to the other plugin author about working together to make them compatible.
You have given us a lot of information to go on. That’s awesome. If you have any more questions please fire away. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Ashwin!
Thanks for taking the time to investigate our calendar. By default, once you install the calendar it will show events in the “List” style. This will display all upcoming events, and hide past ones. People can still find past events if they go searching for them. This is especially nice because Search engines can still find them as well, and thus will not penalize you for missing content. But, when a event is past it will be marked on the pages as having passed and it will be moved into the Past Events views.
Does that sound like what you are looking for? Cheers!

PS. You posted in the pre-sales section so I assumed you were not already a user of the calendar. If you are already a user of the calendar and need help customizing it, such as truly deleting past events and thus causing search engines and such to see missing content, please post to the support section of our Premiums forums here. Or if you do not have a license for premium support, checkout our free forums manned by some awesome volunteers on WordPress.org. 🙂

ParticipantHowdy Gilles,
Thanks for taking the time to file a bug report. I tested this on my site, and a few others, and I am unable to reproduce a problem. Would you mind helping narrow down the root cause?
This is likely a bug stemming from a conflict between our plugin and another one. Perhaps another that also uses the WP Ajax API. To test for this, could you do a full conflict test (click here for a lovely guide)? Just the first section “Test if there is a conflict” will be enough to confirm if that is the problem. For many people it takes less than 5 minutes to run through. If there is a conflict, the next section will help isolate the root cause. Once we know the cause we can search for a solution together.
Please let me know how that goes. Do you have any questions for me in the meantime, or anything else I can help with?
Cheers!
