MemberOK, glad you found it 🙂
Are you comfortable taking things from here/approaching the theme author for further assistance?
Barry
MemberYou’re right, it’s not on your homepage and that was a mistake in my wording – sorry for the confusion. Regardless, the Javascript used to power that widget is working everywhere except that page (your main events page).
If there was a conflict with any of my other plugins, etc., the countdown wouldn’t work on all of my other pages.
I can appreciate your thinking here but that’s not necessarily true and it is well worth running through our troubleshooting steps. If I test things out with a default theme (Twenty Thirteen) and no plugins but our own, for instance, I am unable to replicate this issue with the Countdown Widget.
With that in mind, can you give those steps a shot? If you wish to avoid running through them on your live site perhaps you could do so on a test site instead (you could in fact do them backwards – quickly create a new WordPress site and start only with our plugins and a default theme – confirm there is no problem – and build up from there by adding all of the plugins and ultimately the same theme as on your live site).
Let me know how you get on!

MemberHi!
Please do bear in mind that, while we can point you in the right direction, building out customizations such as adding extra sidebars to your theme is, ultimately, something you need to drive forward.
It is also greatly appreciated if wherever possible you create a new thread of your own rather than entering someone else’s, even if it covers something that seems very similar in nature to your own problem 🙂
Do check out the documentation for WordPress’s dynamic_sidebar() function, though.
Good luck!

MemberHi!
By default your license gives you access only to the versions that have been released within the period covered by your license – but I’m sure we can accommodate your request here.
I’ll share a download link with you as a private reply (I’d rather not leave it “in the open”) but please let me know if you are unable to access it.
Thanks!

MemberOK. Normally I’d suspect this to be the result of a conflict with your theme or another plugin but I see you indicated having already completed our standard troubleshooting steps:
YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.Just for the avoidance of any doubt, can you confirm that you did indeed see no difference with regards to the featured image metabox after running through those steps?
Barry
MemberHow about adding a new sidebar region and embedding the widget that way?

MemberHi Sebastian,
certainly I think this kind of should be essential.. lets say i am looking in a City X for and Events Y (Happy hour) I would like to see on Map.. wher are they .. do I make myselfe clear..
I do see what you are saying but I’m not convinced this is something all or most users would need or desire: that said, we’re always open to new ideas and feature requests – and you are welcome to share them on our UserVoice page:
The great thing about this is that other users can comment and vote for your idea (and of course you can up-vote requests by others) 🙂
I found your plugin on the following WP theme..
http://vamtam.com/?theme=church-event
I am creating so far a Directory in Honduras and would like to implement searchable Events..
any thoughts on that..We don’t provide technical support here in the pre-sales forum, I’m afraid. If you need technical support in relation to your theme (or the particular version of our plugin they have bundled it with) then it is best to approach the theme author – of course for general questions relating to The Events Calendar itself you are also welcome to post on our wordpress.org forum.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberThanks for checking in 🙂
The problem still exists, with the “Block access to WordPress dashboard”, however as long as you’re able to access the site using the /wp-login.php instead of /wp-admin/ – well, that’s the workaround.
So really this is sounding like expected behaviour: wp-admin is the gateway to the dashboard, so to speak, so yes – we block it – and wp-login.php is the correct place to login. That said, I do see your point and we can certainly consider a change here to make things a little more intuitive.
Right now though it sounds like you are all sorted, so I’ll go ahead and close out the thread. We’ll certainly do our best to re-open it and post updates once we’ve made a decision about any future changes with regards to logging in via wp-admin, though.
Thanks again for your support and patience 🙂

MemberHi!
Thanks for considering our plugins 🙂
We’ve built everything to be as customizable as possible so, while we can’t offer support for third-party plugins like S2 or Member Mouse, at a high level this would definitely appear to be a readily achievable goal.
You could for instance set up tickets for an event – each can be individually named – and prefix them with an identifier like “Gold Members:” or “Silver Members:” (or whatever is appropriate in your case) then, as a further customization, selectively show or hide each according to the current user’s membership status.
Alternatively, depending on your customer base, you might find that’s unnecessary and simply explaining who is entitled to what and naming the ticket types clearly will be sufficient (after all, generally speaking you can with most ecommerce plugins vet orders before they are completed and so ratify their entitlement at that stage).
Whichever approach you take, this is eminently possible so long as your membership plugins make it easy to check on the role/status of the user with regards to their membership level.
I hope that answers your question but do let me know if I can help with anything else.
