Featured Image Box in Backend has gone

Hi,

I am confused. The Featured Image box in the backend editor has gone. It is not hidden by the options; the option “featured image” is checked.
It is strange.

What can I do?

That is very strange, especially if the relevant option appears in the Screen Options pulldown.

Is it possible the metabox has simply been minimized or moved to a different position?

Yes, it is strange! But the meta box has not been minimized or has moved at any other position. It is still gone!

OK. Normally I’d suspect this to be the result of a conflict with your theme or another plugin but I see you indicated having already completed our standard troubleshooting steps:

YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.

Just for the avoidance of any doubt, can you confirm that you did indeed see no difference with regards to the featured image metabox after running through those steps?

OK. I tried it once again, but only with the 2011 theme.
I found the error. It was the theme.
