Barry
MemberIām not sure if the pages Iām importing from are entering their venues differently (blvd. vs. boulevard) or what is happening, but for some they are importing multiple times.
That’s possible (variations in address spelling) – the other thing is if Facebook itself believes the venues to be different and assigns a separate ID to them, our plugin is going to roll with that same assumption.
Another consideration is that fuller management of organizers and venues is something our Pro plugin adds – do you also have that running (you don’t need it of course, it just makes it easier to picture your setup)?
Barry
MemberGood catch – I completely missed that. So remove that rule and add this:
table.tribe-events-calendar td div.hentry { width: 60px; }Adjusting that width value to suit, of course: 60px may not be perfect.
Barry
MemberHi Jaysen – thanks for posting. If I add a new CSS rule it seems to solve the problem:
table.tribe-events-calendar td { overflow: hidden; }Are you comfortable with the process for adding CSS and can you give this a try?

MemberHi Karen: just want to be sure I’m understanding you correctly here. I tried replicating this with an event running Tue-Sat every week for 3 months (so a recurring event). On the upcoming events list it doesn’t show every day separately, rather it groups them in this fashion:
- 18 Dec 12 – 22 Dec 12
- 25 Dec 12 – 29 Dec 12
- 01 Jan 13 – 05 Jan 13
- …
Which I gather you are not experiencing?
Barry
MemberHi Steve – can you provide a URL so I can inspect the actual markup? I’d hazard a guess that the shortcode is being parsed (otherwise, of course, we’d simply see the shortcode) but whatever techniques it is using are causing a problem.
Does the shortcode belong to a theme or plugin – if so can you provide a link so we can take a look using our own systems?
Thanks!

MemberHi Wendy, licenses entitle you to updates (for our premium plugins) as well as support here on the pro forums: so if your license for any one of our plugins has expired you will not be able to download a new version until you renew your license.
Happily enough, it may be that as a returning customer you could qualify for a discount – if you could email the team at [email protected] I’m sure one of my colleagues can help.
Thanks!

MemberIs it only the pro version that causes the problem?
We could certainly take a look, though we can’t guarantee finding the answer, if you could send a copy of the plugin across to us by email ([email protected], marking your email for my attention and including a link to this thread).

MemberOK – sounds like you ideally want to see the calendar change and only the calendar – as happens with the calendar widget. So long as you’re happy and have a working solution though that’s the important thing – thanks for reporting back š
Barry
MemberThanks again Andy for jumping in here – jts2005 if you don’t mind creating a new thread (that would make it easier for others experiencing the same problem to find a solution in the future) for the cell overflow problem that would be great.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberNo problem – I’ll close this thread now but feel free to create new topics as needed š
Barry
MemberHi Salvador – you’re correct, by default 2 columns each with a width of 30% are stacked together. You can change this of course – either by changing the style rules or by customizing (overriding) the single event template, or both. Check out:
Does that help here?

MemberHi Cheryl. Are you able to login to your client’s site and get a feel for whether or not it is unusually slow (so as to eliminate the possibility that this is just due to a slow internet connection at the client’s end)?
The thing with performance issues is that there are a lot of factors to consider – the amount of traffic, the server capacity, what additional plugins/themes are running etc – of course if you have a huge number of events, recurring or otherwise, that’s going to have some sort of impact. I do know that efforts have been made to further optimize the next major release of The Events Calendar, though.
Also, we have a lot of recurring events, and some are set up for over a year. Is there any way to limit the amount of recurring events that can be generated or otherwise control the number of events?
It’s probably possible, but would require a bit of work to make this happen – there’s nothing really built-in along these lines. What did you have in mind exactly?
Barry
MemberThanks for jumping in there Andy.
Salvador: as Andy suggests it might be better to create a new thread if you have further questions – apart from anything else it makes it a lot easier for other users to find relevant topics that might help them in the future.

MemberHi Gail: have you enabled Google Maps in the settings (Events > Settings > General > Enable Google Maps) as well as in the event editor for individual events (Show Google Map)?
Can you also provide a link to your site to help me visualize this?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Antonio – I note that you tried deactivating all other plugins to check for a conflict: what was the outcome of that test and did you also try switching to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve?
Can you also clarify what you are doing when this error happens? Are you adding a filter or removing one – which filter is it you are trying to use?
