MemberCan you provide a URL so I can look at your setup?
Barry
MemberHi Nicole, you would probably be looking at the tribe_get_events() function to do this. You’ll need a good working knowledge of WP Query (since it sits on top of that mechanism) and taxonomy queries in particular.

MemberIt could be (a rewrite flush issue), especially if you are using other plugins that dynamically change the rewrite rules. For the time being though are you all sorted here Sandro?
Barry
MemberNo unfortunately the forum is a bit limited when it comes to sharing screenshots or code, but you can always use a third party service and provide the link here.
Regarding the translations which are present in the .mo/.po files but are not being utilized, can you provide some example phrases so that we can look into this?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberThanks Andy. Salvador: does that answer your question or do you need any further input here?
Barry
MemberHi Will: are you sorted here/need any further input?

MemberGreat!

MemberHi Lorna – if you look through our tutorials you might find an old tutorial about doing this with Gravity Forms: do note that that tutorial is now out of date, but it could give you some ideas.
Alternatively, have you checked out our Community Events plugin?
Barry
MemberHi Matthew – I’ll close off this thread since it sounds like you’ve resolved the problem.

MemberGood stuff, thanks for posting back your solution 🙂
Barry
MemberThanks for checking back in Christopher – hopefully the rest of the integration goes smoothly 🙂

MemberIt’s possible that in your hosting environment WordPress is unable to initiate scheduled tasks (the mechanism used to enable events to run at set periods in the “background”).
If that’s the case you may need to set up a real cron task – thankfully, many web hosts offer a nice web based interface in CPanel (or equivalent hosting control panel packages) that make this pretty easy. If you choose this approach please seek the assistance of your web host if necessary.
The actual script you would be targeting would be the wp-cron.php script in the root of your WordPress installation.

MemberAlso, I want to confirm that I do not need a Facebook App ID & Facebook App Secret.
You mean is it required that you enter an ID and secret that belongs to you? No, it’s not.
If you don’t then the plugin uses its own ID and secret – however if I understand things correctly then a potential problem there is that if everyone is doing this their collective requests are viewed by Facebook as coming from a single app – and their API request limits may kick in and prevent further communication for some period of time.
In terms of Organization and Page Usernames / IDs to sync with… For this page, https://www.facebook.com/RamahCanada would it be “RamahCanada” or “131258917989″
Assuming 131258917989 is the organizer ID then you could use either or, depending on your preference. Personally I use the more human readable slug simply because it’s easier to detect mistakes.
After all is said and done if the automation of the events don’t work… then what?
Can I just clarify, is it the case that only automated imports are failing for you? Or are manual imports also a problem?

MemberHi Daniel: can you read this post? It’s definitely relevant in your case as your site is running with jQuery 1.4.2 … WordPress currently ships with 1.8.3 and The Events Calendar does expect the WordPress defaults as a minimum.

MemberHi James, thanks for sending those across. One of two things (possibly both) are likely to be happening here. The first is a Javascript error which is bringing everything else to a grinding halt; the second is a PHP error which is also bringing things to a grinding halt.
This doesn’t happen for me using a bare bones WP 3.5 installation with only our plugins and a default theme (Twenty Twelve) running, so I can’t but suspect a conflict here. I do note that when you opened this thread you didn’t mark down that you had tried switching theme.
For that reason, can I ask you to repeat the basic troubleshooting steps again:
- Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch (ie, if The Events Calendar is 2.0.10 then Events Calendar PRO should be 2.0.10, too)
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Simultaneously, switch to a default and unmodified default theme such as Twenty Twelve
Can you let me know if that resolves the issue? If it does, please reactivate everything one by one until we can narrow down which component (if any) is causing the problem – we’ll then be in a better solution to troubleshoot that specifically.
Thanks!
