MemberI installed The Event Calendar, Eventbrite plugin and Community plugin this evening (12/18). I upgraded to WP 3.5 and now my widgets admin is missing the right widget column and most of the widgets. I deactivated the Eventbrite plugin, still missing. I deactivated the Community plugin, still missing. I deactivated The Event Calendar, they return.

MemberJust a note, I tried to reinstall and still got the same issue. I purchased two plugins and need to get this working as quick as possible. Assistance is greatly appreciated.

MemberJames: do you mean that this problem is occurring in the Appearance > Widgets admin screen, or on the front end (or both)?

Member@Barry, the problem is happening in Appearance > Widgets in the admin screen. When the event calendar is installed (not pro, but the base plugin that you need for the other plugins) the widget admin has issues. The widgets still appear on the front end. It almost looks like that when the appearance > widgets page comes up that it does not finish loading.

Member@Barry, if you have an email I can shoot you a screen shot. Just let me know where to send it to.

MemberHi James – you could send it to [email protected] marking the email for my attention and including a link to this thread if possible 🙂

MemberHi James, thanks for sending those across. One of two things (possibly both) are likely to be happening here. The first is a Javascript error which is bringing everything else to a grinding halt; the second is a PHP error which is also bringing things to a grinding halt.
This doesn’t happen for me using a bare bones WP 3.5 installation with only our plugins and a default theme (Twenty Twelve) running, so I can’t but suspect a conflict here. I do note that when you opened this thread you didn’t mark down that you had tried switching theme.
For that reason, can I ask you to repeat the basic troubleshooting steps again:
- Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch (ie, if The Events Calendar is 2.0.10 then Events Calendar PRO should be 2.0.10, too)
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Simultaneously, switch to a default and unmodified default theme such as Twenty Twelve
Can you let me know if that resolves the issue? If it does, please reactivate everything one by one until we can narrow down which component (if any) is causing the problem – we’ll then be in a better solution to troubleshoot that specifically.
Thanks!
