ParticipantHey guys,
Wanted to reopen this ticket here https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/submissions-with-errors-create-duplicate-organizer-details-fields/ as it closed without any update on whether or not it had been resolved. Just trying to get an idea on where this one stands.
Thanks!

MemberHi Casey.
It sounds like the bug attached to your other thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/bug-reopen-event-start-date-end-date-reset-when-errors-returned-2/
Is it?
If it’s not the same issue, please re-describe your issue and provide any links or screenshots.
Thank you.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thanks a bunch for getting back. This ticket and the other one are two separate issues. This issue here is when you submit with errors, the Organizer fields start duplicating. The other issue deal with with the date changing back to day when you submit with errors.
So both issues arise when submitting with errors, but the resulting behavior after submitting is different.
For the duplicated organizer fields, here’s a screenshot of that resulting behavior: https://nimbus.everhelper.me/client/notes/share/385166/inrtown6m7g1w4ufavhw
So we’re seeing an issue if you submit an event with an error, such as leaving out the title or description, the Organizer Details fields show up twice when the form reloads. The result is what you can see in the screenshot.
Thanks again for the reply and looking into these!
Casey

MemberGotcha.
Your screenshot matches the Pending Fix issue I referenced on the other thread. My apologies.
I’ve marked this thread as Pending Fix, as stated at the other thread.

ParticipantI just wanted to thank you once again for reaching out to us about this. We just released a new version of The Events Calendar and all of its addons that contains a fix for this.
Our blog post with the full details: The Events Calendar 4.1.4 and premium add-ons
We recommend updating as soon as you can to get the latest patches. Please let us know if this fixes the bug you have been experiencing or if you have any follow up questions. Thank you again!

ParticipantThanks for getting back to us Brook. I’m sorry to say that this is still not fixed. When we submit the form with errors the Organizer fields duplicate each time we submit it. Please see the attached screenshot. We are running the following Events Calendar plugin versions:
– The Events Calendar: 4.1.4
– The Events Calendar PRO: 4.1.3
– The Events Calendar: Community Events: 4.1.2I’m hoping we’re wrong about this, but if not this is infuriating. We’ve had tickets open for months and a number of times we were told this was fixed and it hasn’t been. We’ve also had a number of tickets closed with no resolution. Please tell us what we can do to resolve this.

ParticipantUnfortunately, I know it’s not reCAPTCHA since I’m having this issue while logged in, and the reCAPTCHA doesn’t show up when logged in.

MemberCould you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?
Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.
If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
If it doesn’t, please share your System Information. That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberI figured it out. The issue is when Default Content is set at wp-admin > Events > Settings
You have default State as MO. If you unset that option, it should be a workaround until this new bug is fixed.
(Thanks for your help discovering it.)

ParticipantI’m glad you were able to find the cause Cliff. When I removed the default state I still saw the issue, but I’m hoping that may have been caching. Is it possible for you to keep this ticket open until a solution has been implemented so we’re made aware?

MemberI’d suggest checking after clearing cache and, if it doesn’t work, playing with some other Default Content settings and see if you can discover any other reasons it is the way it is right now.
Please let me know if you find anything else so I can report it to the developers.
Thank you.
