ParticipantHi Cliff,
I tried using an incognito window, logged in and out, as well as adjusted the default content settings with no luck. Each time when I submit with errors the Organizer Details fields are duplicated on page reload. Any update on your end as far as progress goes?
Thanks.
Jonathan

MemberPlease send your System Information again with your new Default Content settings so I can see if there are any other ways I can replicate this.

ParticipantSure thing. Give me a few days to get to this Cliff and we’ll send over the system info. Please do not close the ticket.

MemberOur system auto-closes tickets that haven’t received a reply in a certain amount of time (I believe 2 weeks), but I will not personally close the ticket in anticipation of receiving the requested information. Thanks for checking in. 🙂

MemberI was going to set my local testing site to all your settings but before I did that, I wanted to make sure I could reproduce the issue as I was able to before… and I couldn’t since my local testing site is all up-to-date (version 4.2).
Could you please update PRO to v4.2 and let me know if you’re still experiencing this issue?
Thank you.

ParticipantThanks for getting back to me Cliff. I went ahead and updated all of the Events Calendar plugins to the most recent versions and am now noticing some new issues:
1) There are no longer any fields to add information under the ‘Organizer Details’ section. I only see a dropdown to select a previous organizer or use a new organizer which the dropdown defaults to. I’ve attached a screenshot.
2) When I click ‘Add another organizer’ underneath the aforementioned dropdown I am just taken to the top of the page. Nothing else happens and I still can’t add any information for a new organizer.
Am I missing something or can you provide any insight into these issues?
Thanks,
Dan

MemberWhenever “click takes me to top of page” happens on any site with any plugin, it’s likely a JavaScript console error at your site. If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.
Also, the Organizer drop-down being so wide in your screenshot is likely a CSS issue from your theme or another plugin.
As such, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.
Let us know what you find out.
Thanks.

MemberThat Dropbox link didn’t work for me, but I saw the 2 attached screenshots.
Those WP_DEBUG messages do not show up for me.
I’d suggest making sure you have the latest versions of all our plugins. If you’re on the latest versions, I’d suggest deleting and re-installing fresh versions. I’d start with The Events Calendar free/core and if that doesn’t solve things, continue with Community Events and the rest.
Sorry you’re experiencing these issues. Please let me know how things go.
Thanks.

ParticipantWe updated all the calendar plugins to version 4.2.1 and I’m ecstatic to say that we no longer see the Organizer Details section being duplicated!
Thanks for working through this with us! Feel free to mark this as resolved.

MemberJonathan, I’m very glad to hear things improved on your site.
However, I checked in with one of our developers because the bug report your thread is attached to doesn’t show “Completed” (in our internal bug tracker). His response was that we took 2 steps forward and 1 back here. Validation errors can still cause various problems for those multiple-post (organizer) fields.
As such, please still be on the lookout for such issues.
I’ll leave this thread as Pending Fix for now.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks Cliff. I appreciate the transparency. Can you give us an idea what steps we can use to replicate the issue at this point?
Have a good one.

MemberI don’t have any such information at this time, but please keep an eye on things on your end.

ParticipantCan you give us any idea what we should be keeping an eye on? Even if we check the form regularly, we don’t know how to replicate the issue at this point, so we won’t know if it’s fixed.
Thanks.
