The Events Calendar 5.4

Summary

Maintenance Release

The Events Calendar 5.4 has added compatibility for WordPress 5.7 and jQuery 3.5.1 and improvements to the List Widget.

We have updated the version so that The Events Calendar 5.4 is only compatible with Events Calendar Pro 5.3 and higher.

As with any WordPress update, you’ll want to take care when installing this latest release. Be sure to backup your database and files in advance, and, if you can, test first in a safe staging environment.

✨ New

New features included in this release:

  • We’ve added a compatibility container to widgets to allow for a non-body target for compatibility classes.
  • We now include the tribe_events_views_v2_view_page_reset_ignored_params filter to prevent certain parameters from interfering with pagination resetting.
  • We now use filterable attributes for the View More link and text and added WordPress Customizer styling for the link.
  • We removed tribe_events_views_v2_widget_admin_form_{$field_type}_input from the List Widget admin form in favor of using Tribe__Template::do_entry_point().
  • We moved administration templates for List Widget components to Common.

✅ Fixed

Bugs that were squashed in this release:

  • We’ve added compatibility with WordPress 5.7 and jQuery 3.5.1.
  • Navigation for the Views will no longer use the current browser URL as the previous URL, preventing problems on shortcodes.
  • Latest Past Events view has moved to not publicly visible, which was the intended behavior.
