Maintenance Release for the Week of 7 August 2017

Today we’re happy to announce the fifteenth Maintenance Release of 2017. Maintenance Releases are smaller updates between major updates that are mostly comprised of bug fixes, tweaks, and small but meaningful improvements.

The Events Calendar 4.5.10

  • Fix – Avoid duplicate events when importing from some iCal, Google Calendar and Facebook feeds in Event Aggregator (our thanks to Jason Sears, controlyours and many other users for highlighting these issues)
  • Fix – Fixed bug that caused scheduled imports to get stuck in a perpetual state of failure when receiving error messages from the Event Aggregator service (our thanks to Antonio Jose and others for flagging this problem)
  • Fix – Resolved issue where errors from the Event Aggregator service were not properly logging/visible on the History tab
  • Fix – Improved compatibility when using a non-default plugins directory including mu-plugins (our thanks to @squirrelandnnuts for reporting this)
  • Fix – Made JSON LD permalinks overridable by all post types, so they can be filtered
  • Tweak – Improve integration with the plugins API/add new plugins screen (our thanks to David Sharpe for highlighting this)
  • Tweak – Improve the Select2 search experience (props to @fabianmarz)
  • Tweak – Made linked post fields’ auto-save features more stringently check for empty values to prevent the plugin from trying to “save” empty values (our thanks to Jean-Marie for highlighting this problem)
  • Tweak – Moved the organizer e-mail address field label a bit to better accommodate Community Events
  • Tweak – Added filter to tribe_get_display_end_date()‘s return value
  • Tweak – Avoid notice-level errors while processing queues within Event Aggregator (our thanks to David Sharpe and others for reporting this)
  • Tweak – Improve compatibility and avoid Javascript errors when running alongside Twenty Seventeen
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.4
  • Language (The Events Calendar) – 1 new strings added, 119 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted
  • Language (Common Library) – 0 new strings added, 312 updated, 1 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted

Community Events 4.5.4

  • Fix – Fix a conflict with the WP Edit plugin to ensure its “disable wpautop” option does not break the Community Events submission form (our thanks to Karen for highlighting this)
  • Fix – Hide delete button for event recurrence rules
  • Fix – Prevent a notice level error occurring when the edit page is accessed while the Divi theme is in use
  • Fix – Add some responsive styling to account for a wide table on the My List page (our thanks to Iwan for flagging this problem)
  • Fix – Added support for venue meta fields to front-end venue editor (thanks to Mario for flagging this issue)
  • Fix – Fixed bug that erroneously showed the fields for a new linked post when there was an submission error
  • Tweak – Enhance submission form labels for taxonomy fields so they use the real taxonomy name, not “categories” generically (our thanks to Hans-Gerd for bringing our attention to this issue)
  • Tweak – Merged date format settings with The Events Calendar, can now be found in WP Admin > Settings > Display
  • Tweak – Add some UI to the “Timezone” selection field on the submission form to help clarify that it can be edited
  • Tweak – Added helper text to Admin settings clarifying that subscribers can only edit/remove their own submissions
  • Tweak – Added styling for themes like Genesis that put too much padding in the datepicker
  • Tweak – Enhance submission form labels for taxonomy fields so they use the real taxonomy name, not “categories” generically
  • Compatibility – Minimum supported version of WordPress is now 4.4
  • Language – 4 new strings added, 119 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 3 obsoleted
