    Hey Sky,

Sure. So with the latest versions of the plugins installed, and using the filters addon, we have a checkbox filter option for Event Leader on this page: https://thomashuebl.com/calendar/ – currently it’s working ok though since I reverted to the previous versions of the core plugins. The issue is is when filtering via the checkbox, the filter Ajax times out and I see this error in the dev inspector console:

TEC Debug: tribe_ev.fn.setup_ajax_timer fired with a timeout of \"500\" ms

And the events show “no events found” even though there are events that match the filter selection.

I tried a number of things to troubleshoot this, double checking events with the filter were set, checking the filter settings were correct and comparing to others that worked, and the only thing that fixed this was reverting to the previous versions of the plugins.

To test this yourself, you could add a checkbox filter, assign the values to a couple events, and then attempt to filter. I would expect it to output the same error.

Let me know if you need any more info.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Sky,

Yes, I reverted to the previous versions mentioned above to bypass the issue, but it is a problem using the latest versions of the plugin as I’ve stated. If you test this using the latest versions of the plugin I’m sure you’ll see the same thing. Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hey Sky,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, as I noted in my post we’re “using the latest versions of the plugins” – TEC at 4.6.18 and TEC Pro at 4.4.27. I tried changing the checkboxes to radio buttons and that didn’t work, and made sure to clear caches.

Let me know what else we can do.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hi Cliff,

Thanks for your reply! I was more looking for a callback function that I could execute rather than a conditional check. Do you know of anything like that? Getting Isotope updated t include fitrows or implementing flexbox would be great too!

    Hey guys,

Update on this – so I’m able to translate the actual filter bar custom field titles, but not the values. The values do show up in the String Translator but for some reason they are not taking. Check it out. These are two of our custom fields used in the filter bar: https://cl.ly/s6OB – they’re just options for filtering events by open/closed enrollment, and event language. So I’ve checked for the values to be translatable here, and they show up properly in the String Translator and I’ve translated them as you can see here: https://cl.ly/s682 (this is example shows the Enrollment field values)…

But they don’t take on the front end. I’ve cleared caches and everything. Can you check with the devs to see if the values are properly translatable in the code? It would be really nice to get this bug fixed.

    Let me know, thanks!

Hey, I forget how this was resolved but it was. Thanks!

    Hey Jeremy,

I think I’ve fixed it based off of this thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/tribe-event-calendar-not-changing/

    Thanks,
    Jonah

    Hey Jeremy,

I haven’t reached out to WPML, and can do so, but it seems like to me this is primarily an issue with TEC functionality that needs to be sorted out to work with WPML.

I’ve checked those options and they are both enabled and configured.

The same issue persists in our staging environment where I’ve deactivated all other plugins and reverted to TwentySeventeen: https://unifiedthomas.staging.wpengine.com/de/calendar

Please let me know what else we can take a look at.

    Thanks!

    Hey Jaime,

Thanks for the reply. Bummer, but I understand. I’ll reach out to WPML to see what they say. If you guys could please flag this internally as well as an incompatibility to take a look at in the future, that would be great. I would imagine you guys have more than a few WPML users out there 😉

    Best,

    Hey Jaime,

Yep, I looked over that article before to double check I wasn’t missing anything. That article mainly covers just editing titles correct? At any rate, it does not help with this issue. Please let me know what else we can try.

    Thanks,

    Hey Jeremy,

I tried changing what I think is the ‘month’ slug used by the plugin and picked up by WPML in the String Translator. Modified the values to ‘monat’ for all instances of ‘month’, cleared permalinks and it didn’t work…

    Any other ideas?

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your reply! We’re using WPML. So to modify the slug for other languages, do I just modify the eventsSlug value?

Just a quick update, you may not see the above issue in the example I provided because we changed the events per page setting on the live site. You can view the issue on the staging site instead: http://unifiedthomas.staging.wpengine.com

    Hey Barry,

Thanks for the reply! It partially solved the issue in that now the page correctly displays the number of events on first load, but there are still issues with the pagination where no results are displayed even though there is an upcoming event after the current page, and then that upcoming event will show if you first page forward and then back again.

An example is the event on Dec. 27th on the German calendar: https://thomashuebl.com/de/calendar/ – load the page and then page forward, you’ll see no results, then page back and you’ll see the Dec. 27th event.

There is another potentially related issue we just noticed here too, which is that in Safari when paging, the translations of the calendar title and pagination text is lost. Should I create a separate ticket for that?

Thanks and let me know what else can be done here.
