ParticipantHello Geoff,
This describes the exact issue I’m having… Is there any progress on a fix?
Many thanks,

ParticipantThanks for your reply Brook,
The weird thing is that I have an event with NO venue at all but it still appears on the map:
http://www.chelseafringe.com/events/map/?action=tribe_geosearch&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=map&tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=51.508515&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=-0.12548719999995228&tribe-bar-geoloc=London%2C+UK&tribeHideRecurrence=1(search anywhere and you’ll see a rogue marker at 0,0)
How on earth (pardon the pun) do I fix this?

ParticipantHi Brook,
Yes, that did it! 🙂
I had to resave all the venues on this server in fact. Sometimes as you say, I had to edit and save twice for it to take effect but I no longer have weird 0,0 co-ordinates.
Thank you,
Sian

ParticipantHi Casey,
Thanks for your reply.
My host moved the site to a cpanel account in the end (away from cloud shared account) to see if that fixed the problem, but I’m still seeing the same issues with the map. Here’s the development / test site that they set up: http://dev2.chelseafringe.com/.
So I’ve just tested the map / location search functionality again and I’m still seeing the same 0,0 co-ordinate issues.
To recreate, please search for events in London, E2 (where there are lots of events) and those that don’t have coordinates show up at the bottom of the list as being, for example, 5729.67 kms away from E2.
On the map they appear at 0,0 – obviously there’s more than one at the same co-ordinate because this varies as to which event appears on ‘top’ (here’s a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y33gssnsc4pu8kr/Screen%20Shot%202014-03-12%20at%2014.30.13.png)
The error log i can access from cPanel shows nothing.
Could maps API quota be the issue? What else can I try?!

ParticipantA further response from TSOhost:
“I can’t think of anything on our system that would prevent you from accessing the Google map data from your hosting with us. Are you getting a specific error message at all?”
I have WP debug on but that’s not showing any errors. How can I check for any other errors? Server error log?
As an additional detail – some of my markers are showing and some aren’t. While searching for a postcode or a town I absolutely know is attached to an event comes up with nothing.
I can supply URLs / logins if you need them.
Very confused!

ParticipantHello,
I have a very similar problem to this (also the same host). This is the response I received:
“This should already be enabled on the server, you may need to make a few tweaks to the WordPress core; http://codex.wordpress.org/HTTP_API”
To be honest I have no idea what to do with this information, and surprised of the advice to tweak the WordPress core! Do you have any idea what I need to do in order to fix this issue (other than move hosts which will be quite an upheaval).sian
ParticipantI’m having an issue with this too, so would like to be notified of any updates.
Many thanksJanuary 21, 2013 at 8:39 am in reply to: How do I change the event form's H1 title? (i.e. "Submit an event") #31248sian
ParticipantThat did it, thank you for your help!
