ParticipantHi,
the location search works only when in map view. This is bound to confuse users, and should be corrected. One way to do this would be to change to the map view when the user uses the location search.

ParticipantHey there apkoponen,
The link you provided takes me to a page that isn’t working correctly at the moment. Can you provide a working link so I can check it out?

ParticipantI’ve been trying to solve this myself. And I think it technically “works” exactly the same way the map view does as the map view will only order events by closest to furthest without filtering out any events. If you search in list view you will see your events reorder without the distance tags but in the same order as they would appear in Map view.
So when you are in Month view it appears as if nothing has changed as there is no way to visually see that the order of the items in the query has changed. I think the upcoming filtering feature could help out with this by letting the user set a distance. That being said, I expected a setting for default distance and I was not able to find it. It would be great if this is added even if it only applies to Month view.

Many thanksOctober 18, 2013 at 5:56 pm #71688Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHi all,
Hmmm…. I think I see what you are talking about. I’m going to pass this over to one of the more dev-minded members of the team and have them take a look. They’ll let you know what they find and post it here.
Stay tuned. Thanks for your patience!

ParticipantEither the notifications aren’t working or I forgot to check the ‘Notify’ box. I wish there was a way to make sure I am subscribed to a topic without actually adding a new comment.

MemberHi everyone, apologies for the inconvenience first of all:

You’re right and we’re aware of this – we’ve got a fix in the works and, by the looks of things, it has passed QA so it ought to be rolled out shortly 🙂

It should generally work, however being able to resubscribe without leaving an extra comment would definitely be a great feature. We do in fact have a number of changes to the forum that we hope will arrive in the not too distant future and we’re hopeful that they will alleviate a number of frustrations.
At this point there’s not much more we can do about the issue initially reported by apkoponen here other than wait out for the next release so I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but thank you all for your patience and support.
Cheers!
