ParticipantI have some events that are online only but are still showing up on the map, is there any way to remove them?
I’d also like to have some control generally over what appears here (because the overall map does become skewed by odd venues outside the main country / areas we cover). Perhaps defining a default coordinate as well as zoom level?
Many thanks,
Sian

ParticipantHowdy again Sian!
So if an event has a venue, it will appear on the map wherever that venues location is set to. If it lacks a menu, it will not appear on the map.
The default coordinate and zoom level jumps around based on what events are returned by the current query. It is really very dynamic, and attempts to be as user friendly as possible. It probably does behave funky though if some venues have invalid addresses, or addresses that Google Maps parsed incorrectly. If the map pin is appearing in the wrong place, then it was not parsed proper.
Does that make sense? Any further question? I am happy to help further! Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for your reply Brook,
The weird thing is that I have an event with NO venue at all but it still appears on the map:
http://www.chelseafringe.com/events/map/?action=tribe_geosearch&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=map&tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=51.508515&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=-0.12548719999995228&tribe-bar-geoloc=London%2C+UK&tribeHideRecurrence=1(search anywhere and you’ll see a rogue marker at 0,0)
How on earth (pardon the pun) do I fix this?

ParticipantWell that’s strange! That is not how things are behaving on my site. Events with no venue do not appear on the map.
I notice that you are running a slightly old version of Events Calendar and Pro. Would you mind updating them for me? I would not be surprised if that fixes it. Of course, any time you update anything with WordPress it is always a good idea to firstĀ make backups.
If that did not fix it, could you possible try adding a new test event with no venue, and setting the date to 3/20/2015? I notice that you have no events yet for next year, so if you add that event and post back here I can look at it and might learn something else. Do this after you have updated though, if you do not mind.
Would you be able to run the updates? Cheers!
