ParticipantJust an addition to this:
I am also having an issue with the deleted events still being counted as under a category. For example – I deleted all of the events that were under the “Boys” category – but the Boys category still says that it has 58 events when really there should be 0.
Normally this would not be an issue – however I have a function that checks if the categories have any events and then lists the categories that do. Since there are no more “Boys” events this is now causing an error in my list of categories with events as it thinks there are events under the category when there are not.
I have searched around a bit for any other people that have encountered this issue and the closest I found was: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/syncing-deleted-events/. I tried out the plugin in that thread to no success.
Any thoughts on this as well would be appreciated. Thank you.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Thank you very much for the reply, that was incredibly helpful. It was definitely the ‘hide_empty’ => false that was giving me the unexpected output. I believe I had originally copy and pasted that from what I found on a support thread and never questioned it.
Thanks again!

ParticipantHi Courtney,
Thank you for the support. However, I don’t think that solution will work for what we need unfortunately.
The venues that we have are constantly changing and don’t always all have upcoming events. So, what we are trying to do is output a list like I am outputting on this test page with the [list_venues] shortcode – but narrow it down to only show venues with events currently linked to them. Because we will be using the plugin to delete old events – even just outputting a list of all venues that have events should work.
I hope that clears things up. Thanks a lot.

ParticipantHi AndrĂ¡s,
Changing the URL format worked perfectly, the month and list view seem to be working well on both English and French pages now. Thanks for the SEO tip as well, I had not though about that initially.
Thanks again!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for that reply. Somehow I missed that post and answer in my search for a fix to this issue.
I have followed the steps that you outlined, however I am under the impression that I may be doing something incorrectly. After I finish following all of the steps the events are showing up correctly on the calendar, however if I click on the second occurrence of an event, it will bring me to the single event page for the first occurrence every time. Any insight you may have as to what I may be doing incorrectly would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thank you for the reply.
That is great to hear that this feature will be released in the near future. In the meantime I would be very interested in the manual workaround. I will await your assistance on that.
Just one quick question for clarification. As I mentioned before, the very first recurring event I created worked perfectly fine. Does the recurring event / WPML incompatibility occur sort of at random, or what would cause the first event to work and the rest created afterwards not to? I am just inquiring out of curiosity.
Thank you,
