ParticipantHi there,
I have run into an issue that potentially seems to be some sort of bug with the Events Calendar plugin. I am wondering if you have encountered this before or know what I am talking about here – in hopes that you may be able to help me find a solution.
Recently a recurring event was added to the Events with some of the recurring instances being ‘broken off’ from the series into their own single event (in order to edit the content just for a certain date). Since that event with multiple dates has been added it appears to be duplicating itself. I came back after the weekend to just over 100 events (from 17), all of which had the same dates and information as the previously added event.
This is only occurring on this event series – the only thing that I can think of that was done differently was breaking off some of the events out of the series. It appears to me that the 2 broken off event instances are duplicating as well as the last occurrence that is still in the series.
I have deleted the duplicates for the time being so I am unable to link to that for your reference but I am hoping this description will suffice. I am writing in hopes that someone else has mentioned this issue before and you may have insight as to what is happening.
Thank you.

ParticipantJust an addition to this:
I am also having an issue with the deleted events still being counted as under a category. For example – I deleted all of the events that were under the “Boys” category – but the Boys category still says that it has 58 events when really there should be 0.
Normally this would not be an issue – however I have a function that checks if the categories have any events and then lists the categories that do. Since there are no more “Boys” events this is now causing an error in my list of categories with events as it thinks there are events under the category when there are not.
I have searched around a bit for any other people that have encountered this issue and the closest I found was: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/syncing-deleted-events/. I tried out the plugin in that thread to no success.
Any thoughts on this as well would be appreciated. Thank you.

MemberHi Ulf!
Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with those issues.
I had a closer look at your site and it seems you are using older versions of our plugins. Please update to the latest versions of The Events Calendar 4.5.12 and Events Calendar PRO 4.4.17 as these might include various fixes that could be the source of those issues.
If you still experience those issues after updating the plugins, you should go through the testing for conflicts guide to make sure they are not related to a plugin or theme conflict > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
Let us know how that goes.
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
