Calendar List View not working on translated page

    Hi there,

    I have a few category pages displaying the calendar plugin that have english and french content/events and I have noticed that the list view is not working on translated (french) pages. When on the English page and I use the dropdown to view the list view it works fine, however when I go to the french page and do this, the page reloads but stays on the month view.

    I have noticed that /list/ does not show up in the URL when this happens as well. When I type /list/ in manually the page displays the list view as expected.

    I am hoping for any ideas that you may have on why /list/ would not be showing up in the URL for French pages.

    Hi Ulf,

    Thanks for your patience. I had to talk with our translations guy and got some useful info.

    In general with the ?lang=fr setup is not the best option for this, but it can be done. You need to tweak your setup so that the slugs do not get translated. This article will help you in that:

    WPML Configuration

    Also note that the ?lang=fr setup is not the best for SEO.

     

    The other option is to use a different language URL format. You can set this under WPML > Languages.

    Hi András,

    Changing the URL format worked perfectly, the month and list view seem to be working well on both English and French pages now. Thanks for the SEO tip as well, I had not though about that initially.
