Hi Barry,
I appreciate the insight into the issue and am glad that you were able to spot the solution so quickly. Based on your observations, I was able to go into the >views>widgets>mini-calendar>grid.php template and simply remove the line break after “” at line 27. All is good now – thanks again for your help!zekeParticipantNo worries Neill.
No, I never was able to get 3.0 working properly on this site we scrapped it and downgraded to the older (working) version. The sidebar widget just changed too much with this upgrade, and even if the sizing could be worked out we still couldn’t use it.
Appreciate the willingness the help out thoughzekeParticipantThanks Neill,
Didn’t help as much as I would have hoped – I guess what I’d really like is a “how to make your calendar look and work as it did before the upgrade” document 🙂
All the changes with the new calendar have really wreaked havoc on our site and we’re not much closer to getting things sorted. Among other things, there really appears to be something in the calendar that’s driving the width out beyond the allocated area for our sidebar. Nothing to do with our theme beyond the fact that the sidebar area is a bit smaller than most of the “traditional” themes.zekeParticipantThank Neill,
I can see the issues now – it appears that all the underlying classes and structure have changed – so our fixes don’t work anymore.
Back to the drawing board 🙂zekeParticipantI appreciate the effort – just not seeing it though. (It’s a bit frustrating, because this has been working fine for several months, but suddenly reverted to this and I can’t for the life of me remember how we dealt with it)
I actually found an older (working version) on a different server, so we’ll take a close look at that and see what modifications we’d made.
Thanks for your help on this –
CheerszekeParticipantMine sounds similar as well. Events show up on the main (large) calendar just fine and will display when I click on the event (although the formatting is way off and will need to be tweaked/fixed). However, the widget shows no upcoming events in the sidebar. This is kinda critical…

Happy to send you a copy of the theme, however it might be helpful to see the thread we had started/closed in regards to the plugin. We had disabled all other plugins and activated the twenty-eleven base theme and still got the same results.January 14, 2013 at 4:54 am in reply to: Category Colors not showing in "Events Calendar Settings" #30721zekeParticipantThanks Andy – will do! (Didn’t feel like one of yours, but had simply assumed it was)
zekeParticipantJonah – well, the theme was downloaded from Woo less than a month ago – so I’d assume that they are utilizing the 3.0 menu management by now – yes? I’m guessing that I mispoke by using the term “custom”. Simply went in, created a new menu and added pages – nothing more complicated than that. I appreciate your patience in sticking with this – kind of a loss as to what else I can try. Seems strange that the opening/closing tags are there, but just not populated:
zekeParticipantWell, went through and deactivated all the plugins and no love – still no menu on the calendar/events list page
zekeParticipantHi Jonah,
Thanks for taking a whack at this. Actually, that’s not the correct menu-if you look at the website, it will appear in the opaque black bar in the header (below the one in your screen shot). With this theme, one sets up a custom menu under >appearances>menus and that’s what we use here instead of the default WP one. It still works everywhere on the site, including the individual event pages, just not the main calendar and events list page. I’ll try disabling plugins to see where there a conflict might be though -
