December 4, 2014 at 12:08 am in reply to: Ability to selectively turn time off to not show on the event #907279PeterParticipant
Hi Brook,
Thank you I have put in a ticket with Cactus. Is there anything I could ad to override for the moment?

Peter
PeterParticipantHi Brook,
Thank you, Im trying to change the order of the event categories. What I found to be happening is that when I use category colours, the colour will only show if its first in the line of selected list of categories. All the events have 2 or more categories selected and of these three that have colours assigned it only shows if that category is first in line. The ideal would be if they were these three parents with all the sports as children but this would mean lots of duplicate categories.
So I was hoping there was a way for these three to be set as the first with all the sports running after these three alphabetically or not.
Hope this makes it more clear.

After the latest updates the recurring instance in the menu list is all working again so all looks to be good.I haven’t had a chance to test the options on the first two points so for now I think this can be closed.
Many thanks

The first two points are all good so will play with the settings and see how I go.
In regards to: The only recurring event in the screenshot I shared was the last one. All non-recurring events will display the dash because they do not apply. If an event is part of a recurring series, the “Yes” will display.
I have recurring events but only see dashes in the admin list of events? Tried deactivating plugins but didnt make a difference?

Many thanks, I found a few similar and added my vote to http://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/5076620-add-custom-fields-to-csv-importer as this would allow for anyone to set their own custom import fields making it more flexible.
All the best.

PeterParticipantHi Brook,
Thanks. Added to the vote. Hope it comes through.
All the best.

Been playing around with recurring events and unfortunately setting the recurring by custom only fine tunes the event date and not how far out from the event date you want this to show in the calendar. Adding this option to custom recurring events would be the best way either by weeks or months that would override the general months setting?
Also just noticed in the event listing that all the recurring events are showing as a – and not a Yes as in your screen shot? What do I need to set to get this back?

PeterParticipantHi Brook,
I already have Additional Event Fields with:
Home School
Hosting at Home
Hosting Away
Game Time
Time as set
Check with Coach
Time TBC
Time is To Be ConfirmedThe only issue is that this is way down the list so someone really needs to look whereas the time is very clear even from the quick description.
It looks like the all day option would work but will have to see how the client goes with it. A second Check-box under the All day Event for No Time Set option would be the best.

PeterParticipantHi Brook,
Sounds like its the same and does seen to happen with plugin updates, turning on and off. For me though the permalinks are hidden so its painful to adjust to get to them and save. I found for me it is easier to go to the Events Settings and simply Save Changes (dont need to do anything else) which fixes the issue.
I hope it can be fixed sooner than later but also worried that it could get worse as more events will be added with options for many more administrators potentially adding many 100’s of events each week so dont want the DB to crash or hit issues due to this one?

That sounds exactly what is needed as there are basically 2 seasons for summer and winter sports but they dont fit neatly within the general settings of months out from an event. This way they can fine tune each event to be viewed more specifically from a date out from the actual event.
Can you tell me, if I have events set to recurring but they are not yet withing the general month setting will they show in the general events listing?

Peter
PeterParticipantThere was a way in importing a csv file without times set that would leave no time showing in the event but this no longer works. If this did work then it would be sorted.
PeterParticipantHi Brook,
Thanks for the updates. I get the same as your screen shot except its about 5 of them. All the values that are meant to show when I turn off the plugin ie. start date, end date, organiser, event categories and recurring. I can click them off but the drop down selection does not show any of these same options only the post date which is useless when you have hundreds of events posted on the same date.
I think this issue is also tied into a theme customisation which the developer is working on as i have an issue where the start date and end date are showing when you are on the same date which should not happen. I say this because the start date and end date show in the event listing when the plugin is turned off. The thread I have running on that is: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/ways-to-make-adjustments/#post-452457

July 22, 2014 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Is it possible to set categories to membership levels? #483389PeterParticipantHi Casey,
Thanks for the updates. I have seen a few threads regarding hiding of events some more complex than others. One was to simply to make an event Private under visability but unfortunately this also hides the event under the selected category which means I cannot show this event to the relevant member using categories when they are logged in.
It looks like this is what people want and has been asked for in different ways and therefore very diluted in your current proposal setup so Im not sure if it helps at all to add another. It would also be handy to have some fine tuning filter(s) in your forum as it takes ages to go through all the posts?

Peter
PeterParticipantHi Brook,
I didn’t realise the standard or maybe its the pro version already had a filtering system for events. I simply turned off your plugin and no more blank value fields. Whats more Start date and end date as well as event organiser now show which didn’t in the options.
All that is missing from the plugin is some fine filtering which is useful but not to the loss of the other information. Also when the plugin is active there was limited sorting options but now I can sort date order etc. Hope this helps.

PeterParticipantHi Barry,
I have been spinning around and around with the developers and they are no closer to getting a resolution which is very frustrating. Is there any way you could point me in the direction of where I need to be looking to resolve this double dating and time issue(s) as I need to get it fixed?
Many thanks
Peter
