ParticipantHi there,
Im having a few issues with this plugin. I would like to send images as examples but you dont seem to have any image upload facility?
1. I need to be able to filter by the ‘event day’ not the ‘post date’ as we bulk upload events and need to at times make quick edits. Can you please advise how this can be done.
3. When I first open the filter options or clear filters the default I see is Title, Organizer, Venue + 4 blank filter options on the right hand side under ‘Add a Column’. They still look to work but there are no titles on them so you dont know which options they are?
2. When I try to filter on the left by ‘start date’ and try any of the options I get these errors:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘wp_postmeta.meta_value’ in ‘where clause’]
SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS DISTINCT wp_posts.*, eventStart.meta_value as EventStartDate, eventEnd.meta_value as EventEndDate FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta as eventStart ON ( wp_posts.ID = eventStart.post_id AND eventStart.meta_key = ‘_EventStartDate’ ) LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta as eventEnd ON ( wp_posts.ID = eventEnd.post_id AND eventEnd.meta_key = ‘_EventEndDate’ ) LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta as tribe_event_end_date ON ( wp_posts.ID = tribe_event_end_date.post_id AND tribe_event_end_date.meta_key = ‘_EventEndDate’ ) WHERE 1=1 AND wp_posts.post_type = ‘tribe_events’ AND (wp_posts.post_status = ‘publish’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘future’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘draft’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘pending’ OR wp_posts.post_status = ‘private’) AND wp_postmeta.meta_value <= ‘2014-08-01 23:59:59’ ORDER BY eventStart.meta_value DESC, eventEnd.meta_value DESC LIMIT 0, 20WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘wp_postmeta.meta_value’ in ‘where clause’]

ParticipantHowdy pwen,
Welcome to the Tribe support forums!
We love screenshots round here. That said we actually do not have an image uploader on the forums. I’d wager that part of the reasoning is that developers tend to have their favorite screenshot tool, whether it be Droplr, Snag.gy, or what ever app you have installed. They all tend to make sharing screenshots far easier than file uploads. I personally love snag.gy because while I still have to paste the screenshot, I don’t have to open an image editor, save the file, upload it, and delete my local copy. Of course, you might prefer the manual method. If you think an image upload is something we should add let me know and I would happily pass that up the chain.
Here are my responses to your issues:
1. That is understandable. This is a built-in feature of our plugin except…
2. That is a known bug 🙁 . The good news is that it has already been fixed in the upcoming version of our plugin, and that is due out very very soon.
3. You might try clicking the X next to any blank values and then readd them. They should not be blank.
Does that answer all of your questions? Anything else I can do to help? Thanks for joining the community!

ParticipantHi Brook,
Look forward to the update on this plugin. Will they also fix the blank values issue? Any idea on the timing for the new release?

ParticipantHello again Peter. To be up front we have no public release dates. In the software world this is increasingly common because software release dates always amount to mere best guesses. But, we do have a pretty set pattern for releasing a maintenance build every ~6 weeks and that would make the next one just about due.
I am not 100% convinced it will fix your blank value issue. Did deleting them by clicking the x and readding them work? If not, have you made any modifications to the plugin, particularly to the language files? What language are you running on your WP install?
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook,
I didn’t realise the standard or maybe its the pro version already had a filtering system for events. I simply turned off your plugin and no more blank value fields. Whats more Start date and end date as well as event organiser now show which didn’t in the options.
All that is missing from the plugin is some fine filtering which is useful but not to the loss of the other information. Also when the plugin is active there was limited sorting options but now I can sort date order etc. Hope this helps.

ParticipantHello again Peter,
I hope you enjoyed the weekend.
I am quite concerned that this persists. The issue with being unable to filter by start date will of course be fixed soon, so you will be set there as soon as the update is released. However, the empty boxes are not necessarily addressed in this release. They might be a problem unique to your website, and I would like to help you troubleshoot them so we can determine the cause and thus work towards a fix. To be 100% clear, is this screenshot (click me) an example of the “blank values” that you are seeing?
If so: what happens when you click the x next to it. Then click Add a column and select the column you want?
If not: Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing. I know you already offered this and I thank you for that, it will be very helpful. In the interest of making that as easy as possible on you you can email the screenshots to [email protected] if you would prefer, or you could upload them to a wbesite like snag.gy and share a copy of the link here. Whatever works for you works for me!
Thanks for keeping me updated Peter. I hope we can get this fixed shortly.

ParticipantIf you prefer to simply leave the plugin disabled until we release the update then I can understand that too. It is possible the update will fix all of your issues. The blank values coudl definitely be related to the filter errors. But, since I am not positive of that I would of course be happy to help you further diagnose if you want to. Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brook,
Thanks for the updates. I get the same as your screen shot except its about 5 of them. All the values that are meant to show when I turn off the plugin ie. start date, end date, organiser, event categories and recurring. I can click them off but the drop down selection does not show any of these same options only the post date which is useless when you have hundreds of events posted on the same date.
I think this issue is also tied into a theme customisation which the developer is working on as i have an issue where the start date and end date are showing when you are on the same date which should not happen. I say this because the start date and end date show in the event listing when the plugin is turned off. The thread I have running on that is: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/ways-to-make-adjustments/#post-452457

ParticipantThat makes sense. I was just about to ask that you test for that if the x button trick did not work. This will be easy enough to rule out if you follow our testing for conflicts guide. It would take about 5 minutes or less to find out if there is a conflict, and on average maybe 5-10 minutes more to isolate it. Would you mind running through those tests and posting the result? It is the best way to proceed. Thanks!
