PeterParticipant
YEP! Restoring the TEC plugin to 4.6.20.1 returns the menu functionality to the entire site.
what are our options now?
PeterParticipantOK it’s not generating any PHP debug errors. I deactivate all plugins except:
The Events Calendar Version 4.6.23 The Events Calendar Extension: Relabeler Version 1.0.1 The Events Calendar PRO Version 4.4.32 The Events Calendar: Filter Bar Version 4.5.8
If you view any page EXCEPT the /classes/ page, the JS errors occur and the menus will not display. On the /classes/ page the JS errors are gone and the menus display as intended.
Does not occur if the PRO plugin is deactivated, so definitely conflict or bug with the PRO plugin.
Thoughts?
PeterParticipantSorry I meant the only other plugin extension we use from YOU is “The Events Calendar Extension: Relabeler”.
The mega-menus function is built into our theme so it is hard to switch to 2017 theme to determine if the issue still exists or not.
I will enable DEBUG to see what happens.

It looks like the newer loop.php adds a two new classes: tribe-events-photo-grid-sizer and tribe-events-photo-gutter-sizer. Do we need to add these to fix back to our original 4 x12 grid display?

hmm.. ok it does work when in the 2017 theme. Is there an easy way to compare the two templates to see what is the outlier?
PeterParticipantI also found that deactivating TECP (and the filter bar addon) brought an update link that worked into view. Looks like all is fine.
Note that in WP 4.6.1, when you select “Update Available” at the top of the plugins page, TECP does appear just with no update link.
Peter
PeterParticipantFIXED! There was a filter in play that was hiding the events-bar and tweaking that got the Reset Filters link to work. Thanks for your help.
Is there a tweak that will go to the top of the page after the filters reset? We have a bunch of filters in play so visitor will have to scroll.
Peter
PeterParticipantWe just switched to parent Highend and it works there. So there is something in our child theme that is breaking it.
PeterParticipantWe are using this
#tribe-events-bar {
display: none;
}to hide the events bar. Commenting that out doesn’t seem to matter.
It was tested with the twenty-fifteen theme and it worked. So I’m guessing the current theme – Highend – is preventing the script from loading. But theme developers say they can’t help us.
What’s next here? I can try to debug it but do not know JS well.
Peter
PeterParticipantHi Brian,
OK. Updated to 3.11 plus updated WP to 4.2.3 plus updated HighEnd theme to 2.4.4.
Tested the site and the issue is not resolved. 🙁
Basically clicking Reset Filters shuts down functionality of the whole system until you refresh.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Peter
PeterParticipantHI Barry,
is there any documentation on customizing the Filter Bar, similar to the Themer’s Guide perhaps?
thanks!
PeterParticipantThat’s awesome! Thanks for the list of Custom Post types and fields, Brian. That helps a bunch.
FYI: the WP Favorites Posts plugin seems to work great and once set to see the “tribe_events” post type, works well to let user favorite an event and the view all favorited events on one page.
PeterParticipantThanks Brian. I will indeed wish list it for future dev, but wondering if anyone has encountered a similar need or can suggest a possible workaround.
Basically we need a way for a user to see a list of selected or favorited events in one location/space/page/cart. I suppose we could try to use the ticketing add-on for the woocommerce cart and somehow disabling the actual purchasing of tickets, but it would be ideal if the cart or collection of events was just based on a user’s session cookie.
I know there are a few post ‘favoriting’ plugins – like WP Favorite Posts – possibly they would be able to see the Event custom post type and provide that capability. I’m not clear on if the Event posts are available to other plugins assuming they can ‘see’ the Event custom post type.
Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated. Thanks all!
