One more quick question. If i didn’t want all of the Categories under Events and instead wanted just Events which acts as the parent for all categories, what would I do?
i.e. ‘tribe_events_cat’ <==== gives me all categories
instead is there a 'tribe_events' that will give me just "Events" as an option?RobertMemberThanks Jonah! I appreciate the direction. I am going to give this a crack.
RobertMemberWill do Barry! I appreciate the response!
RobertMemberIt will be a multisite network. the only thing linked will be the events to the main site. For example we are creating the parent, Equine Sports News site. It’s children sites will be Champion Roper and Champion Barrel Racer. Both of which will utilize ECP for their own events. Equine Sports News ideally will have events from both. I would love if I could enter events into ESN and specify which site I want it on, but that can come later on with heavier development. Does this clarify a little better.
RobertMemberGot it! Okay my only complaint is that, Rob we need this implemented in the next release 😉 I can see a lot of value with this. Click the link to see my implementation:

I am not really a fan of going through my 500+ events and adding in the addresses of all of my events especially when I have already done so within ECP with the venues. I wish there was a more simple way to just look at the ECP data entries for the addresses for all of the venues and automatically add them into this plugin.
@Henry Thank you for your help and guiding me to this plugin. I can see the value in it.RobertMemberI am having absolutely no luck with this plugin what-so-ever… I have modified my template to include the loop and still nothing. Please look.
http://pastie.org/3733210RobertMemberJust a note. I did also try this on a page and it did not work. I am thinking I may need to have the loop function for my theme.
RobertMember@Rob @Henry
Basically my theme doesn’t want to play nicely at all with Geo Mashup. I really want this to be in my “ctabox” div (see code) above the ECP list which is technically out of the loop. I have added the code to where the list is being generated, but still no luck. You will notice that my theme is calling a function to load the loop for posts. Can I even use this plugin or hack the code to make this work. I really need this to specifically work on the events pages and not on a stand alone page. If you can help it will be GREATLY appreciated.RobertMemberI think an absolute must is being able to show a Google map with all of the events on one map. and maybe a separate map that has a single Google map for all of the venue locations as well. I am following a post in the forums but having no luck. Please, please, please add this feature! It would also be cool if you added in the Geo map location pop up the information and details of event or venue.
RobertMemberAlso, “event-map” name, what is this and where is it declared in the plugin? Or does it need to be declared anywhere else but list. When I look at the source I am just seeing an empty div tag that i wrapped the code in.
RobertMemberHenry, I am unable to get your code to work. Is there anything else you may have forgot to mention? I have even looked into the documentation but no luck. Your response is greatly appreciated.
RobertMemberI vote for adding an organizer page much like the venues page. So when a user clicks on the organizer it brings them to a page with their information and upcoming events.
RobertMemberHey Jonah,
No that makes perfect sense. This brings up an idea to work around. My skills are so far away from attempting this but is there a way to set up conditional logic to basically look at if the user came from an external site or from my site? So if the user came from somewhere other than my site, send user back to main events, but if user came from somewhere within my site, send them back to the previous page? Does that make sense? Also do you think it can be done or do you see a hole I am not seeing?
BTW, Thanks again for all your help. You guys are simply the best WordPress plugin developers and support group, hands down!
RobertMemberWorks like a charm! Thanks Jonah. One issue that might be worth while to figure out is the venue back button. The code given for the category link back works great, but the venue (since it is in the event) will not go back to the previous page the user was on, instead it goes to category. I could leave it, but what if I wanted to link it to the event I was on?
If I was a small events site this would not be much trouble to update the file every now and then. In my case I have 200 to 300 events in the system and growing. Is there a function I could run passing the previous pages link? Surely ECP knows what venue is in what event.
Any suggestions or a path you could guide me down?
RobertMemberOkay I am still having trouble. I have implemented the code but still no luck. Maybe I am coding wrong. Can you take a look? http://pastebin.com/ViiYMnEb
