Hi Jeremy,
I have the software updated on my staging server, which is where I’m testing it. All categories and Venues are shown in the left-column options, even if they have no events assigned to them. See the attached screenshot. If a category of Venue has no events assigned, then it shouldn’t show as a filter option.

Connect with me on LinkedINI put it on a testing server and finally figured out what plugin is causing the issue – The Events Calendar: Filter Bar plugin.
Then whatever is appearing above Shortcodes isn’t showing the drop-down view under “View As”. If it’s not technically called the Filter Bar, it’s what you programmed to appear in that place.
FYI: I uploaded the previous version of The Events Calendar to make it work for now. I’ll wait until your next release to test.
I tried both recommendations, and it is still an issue. It’s bringing up a “Page not found” message in the Meta tags. Here’s the URL it creates: https://hearitthere.com/?action=tribe_geosearch&tribe_paged=2&tribe_event_display=map&featured=false
