FrankParticipant
After looking further into this, I think the problem might be caused because I have a 301 redirect in my .htaccess sending visitors from my main subdomain (toronto.fashioncalendar.ca) to the events home page (toronto.fashioncalendar.ca/events/).
Perhaps the search form is being redirected to the /events/ path and finding nothing since my WP installation is in the root? Is there a way to force it to search the root? I feel like the search form was working when I first installed Events Calendar, but I can’t remember.
Best,
FrankFrankParticipantHi Jonah, I checked out that thread and I’m not sure I understand what that other guy’s problem was… To my knowledge I don’t have anything like that running. The only code I have in my header is for Google Analytics. What is a WP loop?
FrankParticipantYes all set! Thanks Rob.
FrankParticipantSorry I keep solving my own problems… I was trying to do this by deleting the filter and clicking “apply” rather than hitting the “clear” button. For the record it might be good to make those two actions have identical functionality.

FrankParticipantThanks Rob!
FrankParticipantHi Rob, I don’t think I’m using UTC time zones. I have it on the city setting (Toronto and Montreal respectively). Is there some other setting I can try?
FrankParticipantOK, so here is another update.
I tried importing my Events Calendar Pro 1.33 data to my new site using the WordPress “export” function.
When I imported the data, it was recognized by the Events Calendar. However, every event I imported has a start date of today’s date January 31 2012. Also, most of the data associated with the event (organizer, venue, phone, email, etc.) is missing.
To compare, view this original event:
http://www.fashioncalendar.ca/event/micalla-ss12-presentation/And then the imported version:
http://toronto.fashioncalendar.ca/event/micalla-ss12-presentation/Am I doing something wrong? How do I properly import events data from one 1.33 installation to another? I don’t know why it is so complicated and I’m running out of time! My deadline is this week and I was assuming this would be a straightforward process.
Please help!!

I did experience something different, but I was testing it on my live site so I had to revert it quickly and can’t remember every detail that was messed up. Now I’m trying to migrate the records over to my new server so I can try the upgrade again on a non-live site.
However I’m having problems migrating records from the old server to the new, even though both are running v1.33.
I posted about it in the other thread regarding the migration.
Best,
FrankFrankParticipantHi Jonah,
Thanks for this. I’ve installed 1.33 on my new server, used the WP Migrate DB plug-in, installed the migrate file via phpMyAdmin on the new server and though the records show up in phpMyAdmin, there are no events listed on the new server in WordPress. I think something went wrong… Any thoughts?
Best,
FrankFrankParticipantI should mention that I’m exporting from Events Calendar Pro v1.33 and importing to v2.0.3. Maybe the tags got changed somewhere in there?
FrankParticipantThanks Rob! I don’t use embedded maps because they don’t render quickly on mobile, but the Google Maps link is really helpful and something that I like to include on every event I list. I appreciate you adding in this feature, or at least a “Google Maps link on by default” checkbox in Settings.
January 16, 2012 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Make the Event Calendar the default page for a domain #13463FrankParticipantThanks Rob. I got the server-side redirect to work with this line of code in my .htaccess file:
RedirectMatch permanent ^/$ http://www.mysite.com/events/
