Here is the link to the solution “Add true Subscribe Functionality for iCal & Google”:
https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/31305556-add-true-subscribe-functionality-for-ical-googleCitizen LocalMotiveParticipantYou didn’t read very well again. I was not creating a solution. I was REPORTING the the solution you offered for the feature I referenced has A BUG — and expressing hope YOU would FIX it.
Honestly, I wonder why I bother writing you. None of you read.

Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantYour team needs to learn that Facebook *profiles* DO import events that the profile has marked interested in. Check our calendar, which is STILL to this day populated by imported Facebook events despite the new Facebook policy. Read your own description of the Facebook policy. That is where I learned this work around. *Profiles* are not the same as pages and groups.
I tried out a Timely calendar this weekend and asked the same question and they actually read my questions, understood it and responded usefully. Why can’t Modern Tribe do the same?
My question was about the particular fields that are not importing. The events DO import, but the second line of venues. the organizer and the featured image do not. Timely replied they import everything Facebook offers and FB is not providing these particular fields from profiles.
So my feedback to Modern Tribe is your help staff needs to learn to read your clients questions.

June 19, 2018 at 9:43 am in reply to: Function to automatically change any Greenwich time events to local time #1556336Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantThank you. Follow up clarification question: If I copy this into the
functions.php file, will this make it so *all* events with UTC time zone
get corrected automatically whenever an import is run? Or do I have to
run something? Does it take care of the daylight savings time error
that is chronically occurring when converting from UTC to local time?June 19, 2018 at 9:26 am in reply to: Function to automatically change any Greenwich time events to local time #1556268Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantHere is exactly what is happening that is wrong. If the event organizer leaves the timezone blank, then when our calendar imports the event, it converts the time to UTC0 (stop that). So 6 pm to 8 pm becomes 3 am to 5 am UTC0. Then when it displays, the calendar tries to convert it back to the local time but is making a daylight savings time error. So it ends up being posted as 5 pm to 7 pm.
Stop all the converting and just leave it as entered.
June 19, 2018 at 9:13 am in reply to: Function to automatically change any Greenwich time events to local time #1556240Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantCan Modern Tribe just leave the times as the user entered them and *not* convert to Greenwich time.
If a person enters 6 pm to 8 pm, just post it aa 6 pm to 8 pm please and ignore the time zone.
Stop converting, please. When you convert it is always wrong.
Thank you.
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantPlrease let me know *what* extension or plug in needs to be installed for these short codes to work. *The article does not say.* That was my original question.
I have to say usually you don’t read my questions very well. And only sometimes do you respond to my follow up questions. I hope you respond.
Thank you.

June 18, 2018 at 2:56 pm in reply to: Are you maintaining your Facebook imports? FB allows profiles to import #1555729Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantThanks, Jaime. Since Facebook profiles still import, I hope you will
still support them.BTW, I tried out Timely calendar over the weekend and interacted with
their help. The same fields were missing importing from our profile to
the Timely calendar as were missing in the Modern Tribe calendar. They
informed me it is Facebook that is not including those missing fields:
the second line of the venue, the organizer and the featured image.
That was useful info.Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantUpdate: We manually fixed the venue details and the organizer, so you won’t find the problems now with the links above that I provided as examples. Just know, the following info is not being imported properly:
* the 2nd line of a venue, which often contains the actual address of the event.
* the organizer
* the featured image. Are these things you can fix or is it a limitation of the Facebook API for events on a FB profile?
Thank you.
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantTip: The aggregator worked fine for Facebook pages, but it does not work well for Facebook profiles. It drops a lot of information.
Thank you.
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantThanks, Jamie. It was not working at all the morning I was struggling with it and writing these questions. Then sometime between then and yesterday evening it started working again.

Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantI got a work around going by using your events link rather than the short code. But I don’t like this because it doesn’t allow me to customize my calendar page and provide different links on it versus the “submit an event” page and other calendar pages. I also have a lot of dead links floating around out there right now that I don’t have time to fix this morning. What a disaster.
Please fix whatever happened to your short code in today’s update soon.
Thank you!
Carolyn
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantIt appears to be the short code that is not working because the link https://localmotive.org/events/ still works.
Please fix!
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantI do not think the problem is W3 Total Cache incompatibility. The calendar side bars events list are working. Is there something wrong with your short code with the latest update.
We are using: [tribe_events view=”month” ]
Citizen LocalMotiveParticipantI went through the steps at this site to totally uninstall all traces of W3 Total Cache and calendar still does not work.
