Do you still have staff maintaining imports from Facebook profiles? It does not look like it. Facebook’s new privacy policy still allows imports of events that a profile is interested in, so it is important that your aggregator handles it. Go to our calendar and pick almost any event and see how poorly your calendar is loading events from our Facebook profile.
All that is transferred reliably is the title, the date and time, and the description. The venue being screwed up is especially concerning because people need to know where an event will occur. Organizer info doesn’t load, venue details are missing, the image is never transferred. It has been like this for months. The worst part of this is your software has filled our venue database up with incomplete information. Mostly only venue names, absent the address, city or state.
I alerted you to the problem with images not importing a couple of months ago and *you still have not fixed the problem*.
If you do not have plans to fix these bugs, *please let me know*. We will go to a different calendar. But I would appreciate knowing if we should stick it out with you, waiting for you to fix things.
Thank you.

Thanks so much for reaching out!
As you may know, Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on a number of our users.
We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.
The short version is that Facebook imports are not currently supported with Event Aggregator unfortunately. We are actively working on creating a new solution to adjust to this issue, although I cannot provide an ETA for if/when this will be resolved.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions on this issue!
Thanks,
Jaime

still support them.BTW, I tried out Timely calendar over the weekend and interacted with
their help. The same fields were missing importing from our profile to
the Timely calendar as were missing in the Modern Tribe calendar. They
informed me it is Facebook that is not including those missing fields:
the second line of the venue, the organizer and the featured image.
That was useful info.June 19, 2018 at 4:52 am #1556006Jaime MarchwinskiKeymasterHi Carolyn,
Glad to hear that some of the Facebook functionality is still working for you.
Yes, this issue is related to Facebook itself, rather than with our plugin, as you have seen with Timely having the same functionality.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Jaime

This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
