ParticipantFYI, I’ve deactivated the pro plugin on the live site for now, and the 404s have disappeared. I can’t create recurring events, which I still want to be able to do, so I would still like to get the downgrade info, or any info about when this issue may be fixed. That may be a clue: I can see the recurrent events I’ve created before fine but when I activate the pro plugin I get 404s on the events. Obviously I would like to be able to activate it.
Thanks,

ParticipantThanks, I flushed the permalinks a few times yesterday, and am ready to downgrade. My question is about which versions go together.
So pro is on 4.4.20.1
community events is on 4.5.8
and TCE is on 4.6.8I am aware of the dangers of not using compatible versions of the plugin, it can (and has) brought down the site, but it’s really hard for me to tell which version of each goes with which ones because the model numbers are so different. This is one of the more difficult plugins to downgrade because of this. So would TCE 4.6.7, Community Events 4.5.7 and ECP 4.4.19 be a complete suite? Unfortunately I’m not sure exactly which version I need to roll back to. Is there a table You can point me to where I can check which versions are compatible for all 3? I know getting this wrong is really not fun. I may need to check older versions as well.
“Make sure that even if you downgrade, you are running compatible versions of all Events plugins. So if you need to downgrade Events Calendar PRO, you’ll need to also downgrade The Events Calendar and any other Events plugins you are running.”
Once I have this information, I can downgrade.

ParticipantOK, I guess I’ll try to chase it down in the release notes or code. Is there any plan to apply the fix to the product with the problem, rather than requiring a different plugin that does a bunch more stuff? This seems like a bug.

ParticipantHi Courtney,
I’m wondering if there’s a css solution I can put in my child theme. I like using a different plugin for custom post types, and a different solution for metaboxes, and I also like to keep my plugin install as lean as I possibly can. This plugin that does so much seems like overkill for this particular formatting bug. If you have a github url to point to that cleans it up, that’d be helpful.
Thanks!

ParticipantIt seems like it’ll work with any 4.2 version. Have it working on the dev site, fyi, it did fix the 404 issue. Closing out.

ParticipantThanks, Geoff,
I wish I had caught it on the dev site. I have a follow-up question.
Do the versions need to match the last decimal to be compatible? So I’ve got:
4.2.7 for events calendar
but then community events only has 4.2.5
and events calendar pro 4.2.6
downloadable from my accountI know from experience how bad it can be if they’re not compatible, so would like to confirm before I downgrade.
Thanks,

ParticipantOne thing I notice is that the start and end dates in my events list view in the admin now say 2018, but if I click through to the individual event admin, it says 2016. Have flushed permalinks multiple times. You can see that the “gears turning” event, in list view it is showing 10/21/2018, but if I click on “edit all” it shows a start and end date of 3/13/16.

ParticipantI had already moved it to another more descriptive post in events calendar pro, so I’m going to close it out here. I also did flush permalinks, first thing I did. Will follow up there and mark as resolved here.

ParticipantListed as a separate issue, in events calendar pro (because it seems to affect recurring urls), is happening on both dev and live sites.

ParticipantYeah, that was my understanding of how it worked, but I notice that the dev urls are getting 404s when they weren’t before. (that’s what I meant when I said that it wasn’t working.) I do see the events on the monthly calendar, and the individual links are writing the url correctly, but there’s nothing there. I guess I’ll try reimporting the data again from the live site and see if that fixes it (using the dev prefix.)

I don’t see where to set this reply as private, and don’t want to share non-profit status documents with the world! Let me know how to proceed.Erick Arguello
ParticipantHi Nico,
It’s still not working. I will check in with the polylang author, but it seems like, for any date, the “View all 20 events >>” link could be fixed in the events plugin code by using a relative rather than absolute url. I think that that’s what the individual events are doing, because they’re writing the language prefix into the url. I hear that you’re not supporting Polylang yet, but I wish that had been more apparent before buying. Please keep us updated on any plans to support it, writing this url relatively doesn’t seem like a huge fix.
Thanks,
Wendy -
