ParticipantOnce again, thank you for the rapid response.
When I said I updated the plugins I was indeed referring to 4.1.1 and the issue is still there.
Thank you George.

ParticipantHi George,
I do not receive the email notifications for your replies and I didn’t see your last reply. You reply very quickly, so I’ll make sure to check back here soon!
I am still having all of the listed problems, but I was able to resolve an issue that was not listed in the original post, which was the text editor not loading on the add/edit event page.
The rest of the problems listed here are still occurring and I have narrowed the conflict down to the JetPack plugin and The Events Calendar Pro plugin specifically (There is no conflict with “The Events Calendar” plugin). The problems do not occur with the JetPack plugin active unless it is also connected to the WordPress.com account. Once JetPack is connected the problems show up.
I have made sure to update JetPack and all TEC plugins.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

ParticipantHi,
OK I was able to locate my old requests (after hitting the send button) and saw what the workaround was for the last time this happened. I checked the child theme functions.php to see that I had not copied that over. Once I copied the canvas specific workaround to the functions file, the events page came back.
But the suggestion for changing the template in the events settings actually helped me with a different little thing that’s been bugging me but didn’t seem worth it to fill out a new message. So thanks very much for this!

ParticipantHi,
The option “Include events in main blog loop” was NOT checked, so I guess this means a custom work-around. Exclude the tribe_events, got it.
Thanks.

ParticipantGreat. The plugin works like a charm.
Thanks!July 24, 2014 at 12:15 pm in reply to: garbled-events-page-fix causes 2 smaller problems for this Canvas theme #498742barrybradford
Participantoops — all that to say the workaround works. almost perfectly. except seeing the events page highlighted in the menu.

ParticipantAs for #2) the workaround using a link to the blog page in the primary menu and footer menu. But when we’re on the speaking-schedule page (with the events calendar), the link in the menu does not get highlighted to indicate people are on that page. Is there a way to change some setting within the Event Calendar itself so that it’s seen as a page and not a blog entry?
July 24, 2014 at 12:06 pm in reply to: garbled-events-page-fix causes 2 smaller problems for this Canvas theme #498713barrybradford
ParticipantHi,
I activated 2013 theme and checked out the speaking-schedule page. There are fewer footer widgets, but they’re not in the right order as the schedule page is. I’d offer up a screenshot but don’t see a way to do that here.In the footer for 2013, were these widgets:
Footer 1 (left side): Categories
Footer 2 (next column to the right of 1): Recent Posts
Footer 3: Recent Comments and Subscribe box
Footer 4: “What People are Saying” – woo Tabs.In the Canvas theme I am only using 3 footer areas, not 4.
Does that help with problem #1?
July 17, 2014 at 6:49 am in reply to: monthly calendar appears truncated and weird; individual events are ok #428840barrybradford
ParticipantHi Casey — that did the trick!
However 2 smaller problems popped up.
1) I cannot select which widgets to appear / hide in the footer of the page. All of the widgets appear. I tried to fool the Events Calendar by making a new page, calling it ‘schedule’…and before assigning the Events Calendar to ‘schedule’, selected which widgets were to appear, getting it how we wanted it. You can see that now — http://barrybradford.com/schedule/But when I went to the settings tab in Events Calendar and assigned it to ‘schedule’, all my widget settings were disregarded.
I’m using the plugin – Display Widget – do this.
2) When I’m on http://barrybradford.com/speaking-schedule/ and looking at the page, I see the calendar on the page as I should, but note that the item that’s highlighted in my primary menu and the menu in the footer highlights ‘blog’ as though the visitor is on the blog page and not the speaking-schedule page, which is also in the menu.
Do you know why this is happening and what to do about it?Thanks again.
