Well, I’m not sure if I fully understand, but I at least got them working. I deleted the old events folder form the server (the one with the custom stylings). I guess I’ll have to read up on how to style them.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

Hey no worries, I’m not sure what it is about your comment system, but it doesn’t always notify me when someone leaves a new comment. It just happened by chance that I was looking at this old post. We were on a tight time frame, so we re-entered all the events. I’m sure I could get you access to the old site, but I would have to look it up (we have since changed our DNS settings, etc.). Let me know if you want me to dig that information up.

On an unrelated topic, any word on when the import from csv file add-on will be launched (I’m dying to get my hands on it).

    Thank you,
    Anthony

I thought I should update this: I tried uploading the .xml file to a clean install the events calendar, and the same results are happening. I think I am going to have to re-enter all that information, aren’t I… let me know if there is a better solution (I can send you the .xml file if you think it will help). I do have a request though: It seems like there should be a clear export feature (Like the recommended exporter/importer) for the events calendar, so this issue wouldn’t depend on who’s exporter you are using. I have seen this in a few other plugins and it really is a nice feature.

Again, let me know if you can think of anything other than re-entering all the events. And please get back to me soon, because I need to get started on entering them if that is the only solution left for me.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

Please keep me posted, I know the old admin is no longer accessible (at least I believe). I actually followed the instructions from the new hosting provider, but I think I will take at a look at the plugin you recommended. Should I just reenter all the information?

    See my comments below:

It looks like most of the events on the website are recurring and I’m wondering if this has something to do with the duplication? I just created an event titled “Test” and set it to re-occur and did not see it duplicate like the others. Is there any particular pattern you can think of that’s common to all these events?
Not really, most are every week for a while…

Were they all newly created events or did they get migrated from a previous version or imported from somewhere else?
They are migrated from the same site using Wp Importer. We moved the installation from one host to another.

Are you using a specific browser and have you tried a different browser?
I have tried on various browsers all with the same effect.

Have you created another event recently and does it still duplicate? What about if you create a non-recurring event?
I have not tried creating a new event to see what has happened to new events created. I do need the old events working, however.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

On the plugins page it has both the of them listed as 2.0.7. I also reinstalled both of them just to make sure, and to no avail. I tried switching templates. Nothing. I just sent you an email.

    Thank you,
    Anthony

I have tried everything. I deleted all the plugin files, and reuploaded them, I tried switching themes, tried changing permalinks. I am at a loss, and I really need help.

I am getting the strings results upon upgrading: http://www.st-mikes.org/events/month/
All my events have multiplied like rabbits. It is only showing on the front end, the backend only has one listing per event…Weird right? I would love some insight.

    Thank you,

Its on every event edit page.
The option is in the right column called: “Event Options.”
Then it appears as a checkbox called: “Hide From Upcoming Events List”

    Thank you,

Sorry, in my delayed response, for some reason it stopped sending me updates via email when a new post occured. I’m not exactly sure where Cliff is referring to. The problem is I’m not using a custom loop, I’m using the widget (I apologize for my lack of knowledge because I suppose they could be the same thing). Overall, Henry’s is closer to the solution, but for the widget, there is an option (checkbox) excluded this event from widget. So, I don’t think that will quite work unless that option is included.

    Thank you,

Thank you for the code, it will hugely helpful, and I will be using that code in other places. However, I do still have a bit of an issue. The widget allows me to filter categories as well as exclude certain items through a check-box. Those items are essential for me in certain places. So, I really need either that functionality included in your code, or I need to get the widgets working.

    Thank you,

Ok, so I actually just noticed this is happening to another site of mine as well. It is a bit more standard of an install, so maybe this is the better place to diagnose: http://www.stthomaspeoria.org/ You will see the events scrolling in the yellow section. Same thing is happening.

As far as my permalink structure, it is using /%postname%/. Concerning plugins, I turned off Total Cache first, everything seemed to work just fine. I turned it back on and it was broken again. So, that seems to be the culprit. However, I need total cache on for obvious performance reasons. Any ideas?

    Thank you,
    Anthony
