ModeratorCheck your Events > Settings > General again. Some have found that after upgrading to 2.0.9 they had to reset some settings.
Andy Fragen
ModeratorGlad you got it figured out so quickly.
Andy Fragen
ModeratorI found after I upgraded I had to go back to the Events > Settings > Templates and re-select ‘Default Events Template’ again.
Andy Fragen
ModeratorTry Events > Settings > Templates and select ‘Default Events Template’

ModeratorWhen using iCal on MacOS newly imported events usually want to go into the top calendar. You should be able to change this as well. In iOS it asks what calendar you want to add it to.
If you subscribe to the calendar feed, the yes it will create a new calendar as this is a subscription and not adding an event to an existing calendar.
I tried clicking the ‘iCal Import’ link on the event above and in iOS it asked what calendar I wanted to add it to.

ModeratorDanielle, the first thing to do is make sure you’re using the most current versions of The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO. I can tell that you’re not as there should be a version number in the PRODID field.
After updating see if the problem exists.
Andy Fragen
ModeratorYou might want to have a look at the Community Events plugin.
Andy Fragen
ModeratorIn Help tab, it says current version is 2.0.8, I am running 2.0.9. ๐
Andy Fragen
ModeratorAlso, be sure to reset your preferred Template. It seems to revert back to ‘Default Page Template’ even if ‘Default Event Template’ had been previously selected.

ModeratorUsers now have an ability to select โNoneโ on dropdowns created using Additional Fields.
This does mess up my plugin a bit but I’m sure I can code it in. As my Alarm plugin has values for ‘Off, 15, 30, 60’ to automatically be added to a new Additional Field dropdown, what I now see is ‘None, Off, 15, 30, 60’.
Interesting, but as long as I know you will always keep the ‘None’ there and it’s always positioned at the top of the list, I can fix it.

ModeratorYou might try under Settings > Additional Fields and see if you can add a field like ‘Teachers’ and list them there.

ModeratorBarry, if you like that one you’ll really like this one.

my version of it is here.

It’s even better when you’ve gotten your SSH keys set up.

ModeratorWe’ll see what they say. You can also just host it on Github and add some code written by a former tri.be guy Joey to automatically update when you make changes on Github.

ModeratorOh come on Phil. You’ve got the plugin made. Test it a bit. Make a screenshot, a readme.txt file and submit it to the WordPress Repo. If you really want to take it to the next level consider a settings page that would set the private category via a dropdown menu. Been there, done that. It’s a great learning experience. BTW, I host all my plugins on Github. There’s a great script that will deploy a Github hosted plugin to the WordPress Repo.
