ParticipantHI Sky,
Do we have a timeline on how this process may work now a bug ticket has been raised? When can we expect to have an update?
Thanks
Matt

KeymasterHi Matt,
Unfortunately, I cannot provide any timeline on when this will be fixed and released. However, since it is reproducible and probably affecting everybody, I am guessing it will be a high priority fix. As soon as the ticket is completed, someone will follow up with you here to make sure that the update fixed your issue.
Thanks,

ParticipantSky,
Your last message referred to us being notified when an update was made that would fix our upload issue.
If that update is in the form of a Event Calendar Plugin update, I am concerned that us updating to the most recent version will cause us to lose any personalisation we have in place. It is for that reason that we have not upgraded to the Pro version that we have paid for.
Am I incorrect in thinking this ?

KeymasterCan you tell me what type of personalization you are referring to? Have any of the Events Calendar plugin files been modified?
If not, then updating the plugin should not have an effect on customizations that were made in your site’s child theme.

ParticipantI will check this with the developers that we have used but I do know that some months ago I clicked to update the plugin and we lost lots of the personalisation and had to reinstall a back up copy or edit the script.

KeymasterThere should not be any modifications made to the core plugin files. Our plugins are built with extendability in mind, but customizations should be made in the child theme’s functions.php file or inside of a functionality plugin. It’s important to be able to keep current with updates.
Can you provide me with your current system information?
Thanks,

MemberHi Matt!
Just wanted to share with you that a new release of our plugins is out, including a fix for this issue 🙂
Find out more about this release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-for-the-week-of-6-may-2018/
We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience while we worked on this.
Please update the plugins and let us know if the fix works for your site.
Best,

ParticipantHi….
We have done the update on a staging site and I am not able to upload a CSV at all now. Can you direct me as to how it should be done. Ive attached 2 screen shots.
How do I go about sending you “current system information”?
Thanks
Matt

KeymasterTo provide your system information, please follow the steps in this link: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Could you also tell me if any of the plugin files have been modified? It is important that we are testing with the latest unmodified versions when we are troubleshooting.
For information about how to import events via CSV, please see this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/
I just did a test with the latest versions and can confirm that the import is now working properly and importing the featured images in my test environment.
If you are not getting this result, please try testing with the Twenty Seventeen theme and all other plugins and customizations disabled.
Thanks,

KeymasterThank you for providing that information.
Yes, it is important that we be able to update all of the plugins to the latest version before continuing to troubleshoot anything.
I also noticed that you have listed in your plugins “The Events Calendar: Frontend Submission version 1.3.1 by XtensionPress” and I want to point out that this is not one of our plugins. Clicking the link they provide goes to a malware site. I recommend removing this plugin, as a search in Google provides no indication that this is a currently maintained plugin.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Sky,
Today I tried uploading a CSV file again on our staging site and our actual site.
Staging site:
We have updated this with event calendar pro and the latest updates. The CSV I used has 16 events in it. All 16 events were created but the pictures were not “matched” to the events.
Actual Site:
We do not have the latest update or calendar pro as of yet as we do not want to update in case we lose any personalisation as we previously discussed. Only 5 events were created, 5 updated and the other 6 were ignored. I did the same file again and 5 were updated. None of the featured images were matched. I double checked that none of the 16 events I was uploading were already in the site and they are not.We seem to be at an impasse here from both versions of the plugin and don’t know how to proceed.
Your assistance with this would be much appreciated because it is now some time that we are dead in the water from a business perspective.
Many thanks

KeymasterWhen you are testing on your staging site, are you doing so with the Twenty Seventeen theme enabled and all other plugins disabled? Including the Frontend Submission plugin I mentioned. I need confirmation on this.
Can you provide the latest CSV file that you are working with?
And also, what do you have set for Events > Settings > Imports > Event Update Authority?
Thanks,
Sky -
