ParticipantHi,
When an order is processed, the admin email for Woocommerce receives a New Customer order (just the standard Woocommerce one). Is something supposed to be sent to the organiser of the event (which invariably is a different person depending on the event, so setting it in WooCommerce isn’t going to work) to confirm that a ticket has been purchased and with details?
Here is an example of an event with a ticket on the site.
Thanks,
Sandra

MemberHello again Sandra,
These are great questions.
Technically, the ticket itself is only sent to the customer when the WooCommerce order status is set to “Complete”. The organizer of the event is not notified by default.
This is because from a technical standpoint, you (your site) is the only vendor.
That being said, there are a couple of ways to work around this if you want the organizer to be notified:
- You might want to take a look at our Community Events and Community Tickets plugins where organizers can see and manage their tickets
- Some of our users have had success with the following plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bnfw/
- Finally, you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantThanks Geoff,
Looks like the Community Events & Tickets could do it. Is it possible to use HTML in the event description? I need a fancier layout than just straight text, as you can see from the example in the link in my first post. If not, can these events be edited in the WP Dashboard so we can pretty it up there?
Cheers,
Sandra

MemberGood evening Sandra,
Is it possible to use HTML in the event description?
Absolutely. The organizers would have complete access to the complete WordPress visual editor.
Furthermore, there is a snippet that can be used so that the HTML also shows in other views such as the excerpt (for the purpose of the List view for example).
If not, can these events be edited in the WP Dashboard so we can pretty it up there?
That is also possible. In fact, you can even decide that Community events need to be approved before they are published.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThanks Geoff,
Such great service on this forum – much appreciated! 🙂
I’ll give those 2 plugins a go. Before I buy them, is there any chance that I could get a credit or refund on Event Tickets Plus seeing as it didn’t do what I needed?
Cheers,
Sandra

MemberHey Sandra,
Thank you for the kind words.
Well actually, you will still need Event Tickets Plus to be able to run Community Tickets as Community Tickets extends the functionality of Event Tickets Plus.
That being said, you are always entitled to a refund within 30 days of your purchase.
To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.Have a great day!
