ParticipantI have a business account and have Events Calendar Pro installed on 3 sites and in my Modern Tribe account it shows that they will expire on September 9th 2016.
One of them OMCAR.com, the plugin will not update in WordPress and when I try to add the license number into the plugin settings, I am getting the following message: “There is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Modern Tribe website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.” Please tell me why I am getting this message and how to update the plugin?
Also a 2nd site is set up for rairc.yournewsites.com which was a staging URL which is no longer used as the site is now live and active at the domain rairc.com. Do I need to disconnect the prior url and then add the new one and if I do will the license number change or have to be re-added to that sites WordPress admin?

ParticipantHey @Craig,
Thanks for reaching out. I will address your questions in reverse order:
Also a 2nd site is set up for rairc.yournewsites.com which was a staging URL which is no longer used as the site is now live and active at the domain rairc.com. Do I need to disconnect the prior url and then add the new one and if I do will the license number change or have to be re-added to that sites WordPress admin?
☝️ Yes, if you need to have rairc.com licensed for automatic updates and such, then you must remove rairc.yournewsites.com from your License Keys page here: http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys
Once that is removed, head to the wp-admin of rairc.com, and to Events → Settings → Licenses. Enter the license key here and save changes. (This is the same license key that was previously used on the staging site. But now that you’ve removed the staging site from the license key, you can use the key on the “real”/production site.)
Now, as for your other issue where that license is saying that it’s out of installs, this could be happening for a number of reasons.
I would recommend the following steps:
1. First, head to Events → Settings → Licenses on this site, and remove the license key. Then, head to http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys and disconnect the omcar.com domain name.
2. Once both steps above are complete, try copying the license key again and then go back to Events → Settings → Licenses in the omcar.com wp-admin. Enter the license key, and save it.
3. These steps are basically a way to “refresh” the connection of the license key to the domain name. Do they seem to help at all?
4. If not, then please post the complete, un-edited omcar.com system information to this thread and I will take a closer look. Here’s how to post system information ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

ParticipantWorse, I just updated the plugin manually and now all event related pages are producing 404 messages (ex. http://www.omcar.com/event/63-hour-sales-associate-pre-license-course/). Even the overall default Events http://www.omcar.com/events/ page is now producing a 404.
And everywhere on the site I used the shortcodes for the calendar display or item list, the item list is suddenly not responding to limit = “0” [tribe_mini_calendar tribe_events_list limit=”0″] (ex. http://omcar.com home page display of calendar and list of events).
Not sure if this is related to the license issue detailed above but this is currently affecting a live site so please get back to me on this asap. Thank you.
June 13, 2016 at 9:59 am #1126199Craig Grant
ParticipantGeorge,
I just tried to remove and then add the license key back in and it didn’t fix the problem at all (still getting the 404’s and the url showing up under my licenses is now omcar1.staging.yournewsites.com instead of omcar.com). You also didn’t address the limit=”0″ or if all these issues including the events default page being related to the license key or not. This situation seems to be getting worse so it might make sense to doing a phone call if you are open to it. My number is 352-514-7558.Here’s my system info to expedite things:

ParticipantHey Craig,
1. Can you please post your system information for omcar.com? Here’s how ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
2. Just to be clear, you wrote that you are using a shortcode as follows:
[tribe_mini_calendar tribe_events_list limit=”0″]☝️ This is not valid, and will not work. You cannot use two shortcodes as one shortcode. So, you could have this:
[tribe_mini_calendar limit=”0″]
Or this:
[tribe_events_list limit=”0″]But you could not try merging the two shortcodes.
Thank you!

ParticipantGeorge, this is very weird because in my prior post I provided all of the system info and it is somehow not in this thread now. But here it is again, as I stated the calendar has been down all day due to this, so a fast response would be appreciated.

ParticipantCan I please get a response on this, all Event Calendar Pro related posts/pages have been completely down for over a day now and you have yet to address that in any of your responses. Pretty unhappy about this situation. Thank you.

ParticipantHi Craig,
Our response times are one reply every 24 hours. I am trying to tend to your thread with urgency but we currently have a very high support volume.
Thank you for your patience thus far.
The first thing that stands out to me and is thus worth fixing is that omcar.com is using out-of-date calendar plugins. Here are the two versions currently running on the site:
The Events Calendar PRO version 4.0.3
The Events Calendar version 4.1.4Please update these both to version 4.2: first The Events Calendar, then Events Calendar Pro.
If you do not have update notices because of the license issues, then you can perform the updates manually. This knowledgebase article may help with that process if needed ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/
After you update to 4.2, what issues remain on omcar.com?
Thank you,
GeorgeJune 14, 2016 at 1:27 pm #1126971George
ParticipantOops—hey Craig, I just noticed that your system information is actually for https://reti.us, not omcar.com.
https://reti.us is not a licensed site. Please note that you have a Business License. This only allows for premium support services on three domain names.
Here are the domains on which your license is currently active:
www.ralsc.org
rairc.yournewsites.com
omcar1.staging.yournewsites.com
Let’s just consider that omcar staging site and omcar.com one in the same, and the rairc staging site the same as rairc.com.
So this leaves us with three sites that are licensed:
• omcar.com
• rairc.com
• ralsc.orghttps://reti.us is not one of these sites, and simply swapping in a license temporarily just for support is not something we can allow.
Can you explain what’s going on here? We will not be able to proceed without clarification on these points and what sites you are seeking help with.
George

ParticipantGeorge,
While I understand that you are slammed right now, 1 response per 24-hours when you’re not solving the prior issues is not acceptable when a client tells you this is affecting their live site with 404s.It looks like I made a mistake and pasted in the system info for the wrong site. So below is the system info for OMCAR.com (which is supported with a license) and you will see it is already updated to 4.2 for both the base and pro plugins.
In fact as this ticket stated, all the problems started when the plugin wouldn’t update automatically due to the license issue and when I updated in manually (following the instructions provided on the Modern Tribe site) it caused the issues I am dealing with now with all 404s even on the default events page. So please get back to me asap on this as it needs to be fixed asap as my client (OMCAR) is very unhappy with what is going on.
Here’s the system info for OMCAR.com:

REWRITE RULES PURGED
Rewrite rules were purged on load of this help page. Chances are there is a rewrite rule flush occurring in a plugin or theme!June 15, 2016 at 10:35 am #1127444George
ParticipantHi Craig,
I notice that this system information reports your version of WordPress as version 4.3.4. This could be a factor in some of the issues you are facing.
I would recommend first updating to the most recent version, which is currently 4.5.2.
After updating, if issues persist:
1. Your events slug is /events. Do you happen to have a page on your site that is titled “Events”, and thus might also be trying to use that /events slug in the URL? If so, this could be causing problems, so I would recommend deleting the page.
2. Next, if 404 issues persist, I would recommend performing all of the steps described in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
Let us know what you find,
GeorgeJune 16, 2016 at 9:14 am #1127934Craig Grant
ParticipantHi George,
I just updated the WP to the most recent version and it did fix the problem, but I actually stumbled on 1 new one as RALSC.org (who is 1 of the 3 licenses in my Modern Tribe account) won’t let me update the Event Calendar Pro plugin (just like OMCAR the other day which is why this all started) as it states:“There is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Modern Tribe website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”
Separately (but possibly related) as I mentioned previously if you look at the urls of my licenses in your system it shows ralsc.org, rairc2.staging.yournewsites.com (instead of ralsc.org). So let me know how to fix that.
And I tried updating the calendar widget with the short code you provided [tribe_mini_calendar limit=”0″] and it is still showing 3 calendar events under the calendar image (see http://www.omcar.com). Please let me know how to fix that.
June 16, 2016 at 12:59 pm #1128125George
ParticipantHey Craig,
Let’s go through your issues one at a time.
#1 Updating to Events Calendar Pro on Ralsc.org
There are a number of reasons why the license message may be showing up on ralsc.org. It is licensed, so I don’t know why the message is displaying, but would recommend manually updating Events Calendar Pro on that site for now. Read how to do those here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/
#2 tribe_mini_calendar limit
You cannot supply “0” as a limit to the widget. Can you clarify your goal here?
Are you trying to display <me>more than 3 events, for example? Are you trying to have it show ALL events on that day, regardless of the number?
#3 “Out of installs” notices
If you run into out-of-installs notices, then there is only one way to go about fixing these:
• Head into the wp-admin of the site on which the notice appears.
• Remove the license key from the settings page.
• Go to http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys
• Use the “disconnect” link next to the domain name for the site on which you got the notice.Only after doing these steps, you can try re-connecting the license from inside your wp-admin.

June 16, 2016 at 9:36 pm #1128248Craig Grant
ParticipantGeorge,
1. I manually updated the plugin on RALSC.org, but my concern is that 2 of my 3 sites wouldn’t update properly, so hopefully this doesn’t happen again.2. Is a bit frustrating that you are telling me limit=”0″ won’t work because I copied the exact shortcode you provided me earlier in the ticket. But I just tried to change it to a =”1″ and it didn’t work either. What I am wanting to achieve is in 2 columns. Column 1 just the mini_calendar image display with no calendar items listed below it =”0″. Then in Column 2 have the List of events =”3″. If for some reason it can’t be =”0″ in column 1, I could do limit=”1″ if I can do an offset of 1 in column 2 (so that it doesn’t duplicate with column 1 and column 2 starts with the 2nd calendar item and does calendar items 2-4 instead of 1-3).
3. I have already done the instructions provided there, but it is not fixing the issue (still see that error message in the settings tab in WP. So what’s the next step as I am not getting what I am paying for when the account shows my licenses aren’t active and aren’t updating properly.
4. You did not address the url issue where it shows 2 of my licensed domains are omcar1.staging.yournewsites.com instead of OMCAR.com and rairc2.staging.yournewsites.com. Please let me know how to fix this and if this could be contributing to the problems (although to clarify ralsc.org is showing the right url under my licenses but is having the issues described in 1-3).
June 17, 2016 at 9:09 am #1128454George
Participant2. Is a bit frustrating that you are telling me limit=”0″ won’t work because I copied the exact shortcode you provided me earlier in the ticket.
1. Can you please share a screenshot of where I provided this, or a link to the page were you found this? I will fix that if it is on a page.
• You unfortunately cannot do an “offset”, as you mention wanting to do in the second column.
2. Can you please confirm if limit="3" works?
3. Can you please link to the page where you have these two columns? I will take a look and recommend custom CSS that you can add to make this a reality; custom CSS sounds like the best—and perhaps only—solution for this specific configuration at this time.
I have already done the instructions provided there, but it is not fixing the issue (still see that error message in the settings tab in WP. So what’s the next step as I am not getting what I am paying for when the account shows my licenses aren’t active and aren’t updating properly.
4. Can you go to http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys, and take a screenshot of all of as much of the page content as possible? Then share the screenshot here: you can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.
4. You did not address the url issue where it shows 2 of my licensed domains are omcar1.staging.yournewsites.com instead of OMCAR.com and rairc2.staging.yournewsites.com.
5. To help me answer this, please share the screenshot as I mentioned in step #4.
I have listed things here in number-listed format. I appreciate how your previous answers follow this format, and request that you please keep answering in that way. This helps keep track of individual issues and helps me help you as efficiently as possible.
Thank you,
