ParticipantGreetings …
When an event is display the first time, the description of the event is shortened with a ‘Find out more’ link. However, when I click on the event it returns to the same page and does not go to the specific page (or expand to a full listing)
A referring page is at:
https://vancouvermeninleather.ca/event/leather-den/all/Clicking on the May 2016 ‘Find out more’ returns me to the same location

ParticipantSorry to see this behavior, @Sean. Can you post your system information to help me investigate a cause of these issues?
Here’s how to share that information → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

ParticipantThank you for sharing all of this!
Your calendar plugins are all up-to-date, but since I still cannot recreate the issues you report, I’m wondering if there’s a theme or plugin conflict on your site.
To investigate this, I would recommend doing all of the steps listed here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
After EACH STEP in that process, go back to where the non-working “View more” link is, and see if anything improves with the functionality here.
Let us know what you find!
Thank you,

Participantoops, i missed the pvt button. If you could fix that I would be greatly appreciative

ParticipantSure thing, @sean—I’ve made that post above hidden from public viewing. Only you and us on the support team can see it. 🙂
As for the issues, I appreciate your testing and have a few more questions since I cannot recreate that behavior.
1. If you head to this site’s Settings → Permalinks page in its wp-admin, what is the option set to there? Is it /%postname%/, for example?
2. When did this issue start happening? Has it been fine for as long as you can remember, then you updated to the 4.1.x versions of things and suddenly the problem arose?
3. This article’s title mentions 404 errors, which is NOT the sort of problem happening here, but the steps in this article could still be helpful here; do the steps on this article and see if any progress is made → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
Thank you for your patience and persistence with this!
Sincerely,
GeorgeMarch 30, 2016 at 12:59 pm #1096082sean
ParticipantIt is set to:
Post name
https://vancouvermeninleather.ca/sample-post/There is a
Custom Structure
https://vancouvermeninleather.ca/%postnmame%/But it is not selected. I have never been in this page before, so I am not sure the correct setting.
As for when this happened, I am not sure. I am pretty sure that it was working prior to the update, however, I have not looked at this for a while so I can not pinpoint a time.
Your comment about 404 errors is unclear. I don’t see 404 mentioned anywhere until you said it

ParticipantHi Sean,
Thanks for this information. In my note above, I mentioned how there are NOT 404 errors on your site.
There are not 404 errors on your site.
Regardless of that, I would recommend this complete set of steps: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/
Those steps are a common recommendation if there are 404s—but even though there are NOT 404s here, those steps might still be helpful regardless.
Does that make sense? Apologies for the confusion. All I’m recommending is those steps in that article. They might help. 🙂

ParticipantI’m sorry those steps didn’t help!
I went to https://vancouvermeninleather.ca/event/leather-den/all/ to try and see the links again to get another look, but it was blocked with a landing page.
I totally understand why, of course, but since we cannot log into customer sites for any reason, would you be willing to temporarily leave that page publicly accessible?
I will work quickly to minimize the amount of time this is necessary, but am just trying to get another look at the issue firsthand.
Thank you!

ParticipantAlso, in the meantime, we’ve published a new release today for all plugins: 4.1.1
I would recommend updating The Events Calendar and all add-ons for it to 4.1.1—it could make a difference with these issues!
Let me know if it does.
Thank you,

ParticipantDoes this happen with EVERY recurring event you try to make on your site? Or just this specific event series?
Thank you for your patience! We have yet to recreate this issue but I am still working on investigating this.
Cheers,
GeorgeApril 1, 2016 at 2:37 pm #1097246sean
ParticipantAll recurring events have the same issue

ParticipantThank you for confirming.
Can you share a screenshot of your site’s Permalinks page? That same Settings → Permalinks page from earlier.
You can do so by uploading the screenshot to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.
Include as much of the full screen as possible—I will check it out and see how things look.
Thank you!
