Geoff,
The big issue we worked hard to overcome has suddenly come back for no apparent reason
Calendar Category URLS don’t work with translation
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/for-geoff-b-continuing-closed-thread/page/2/
This works (entered manually)
http://cpmr.org/fr/events/category/politique-general/
This (which is generated by the menu links) does NOT:
http://cpmr.org/fr/events/categorie/politique-general/
Please advise urgently. Half our site is now throwing 404 errors.

Grrrr. I see what you mean!
You are right, this is very frustrating indeed.
I have been able to reproduce the issue on my end.I have also started some deep testing to find out what is going on.
For the moment, I did find a workaround, but it’s not great.
You need to switch to the ” Translate the theme and plugins using WPML’s String Translation only (don’t load .mo files)” option and make sure all the translations of the “category” slug are removed for our plugin.Hang tight as I make this my top priority.
I will report my findings later today.
Regards,

I am still chasing this one to have a better solution.
In the meantime, it appears that downgrading to Core 4.3.5 and Pro 4.3.4 fixes the organizer/venue issue.
Have a good weekend and more on Monday,
Geoff B.

I didn’t hear back from you on Monday unfortunately. As it’s now Friday, are we near to a fix?
Thanks
Greg

March 2, 2017 at 7:10 am #1248303GregParticipantHi Geoff, Barry,
A month down the line, just wondering what the latest on this is please, and also this:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/for-geoff-b-french-translation-of-venues/
Our client is still having to hit Update 3 times before the french venue “sticks” and actually saves.
Thanks
Greg
March 2, 2017 at 9:06 am #1248463BarryMemberHi Greg,
We’ll do our best to post updates in this and the other topic you referenced as soon as we have something to share, however there’s no news yet.
Unfortunately, the specialist nature of many fixes for WPML integration issues means it can take longer to roll out fixes than might be the case for other bugs.
Thanks for your support and patience in the meantime.
March 13, 2017 at 10:00 am #1253376GregParticipantAny news on this fix please, 6 weeks later?
Thank you.
March 13, 2017 at 10:36 am #1253391BarryMemberI’m afraid not: rest assured we’ll post an update as soon as there is something to share, though 🙂
March 31, 2017 at 5:59 am #1262523GregParticipantOK guys – 2 months on and still broken.
The workaround given is not working on most of our sites. Although it works on our parent site, for some reason.
I have set the WPML Theme and plugins localization setting to “Translate the theme and plugins using WPML’s String Translation only (don’t load .mo files)”
It doesn’t work. The category URL is still /categorie/ – and we get a 404 error. Example:
http://cpmr-atlantic.org/fr/events/categorie/politique-general/
This error has now persisted for over a year. Our clients are running out of patience with us, and understandably so. It’s really not good enough.
How’s that high-level communication with WPML coming along? Because at the moment, The Events Calendar doesn’t work with WPML on a pretty fundamental (taxonomy) level.
Please advise ASAP. Thank you.
