Hello,
(site is on staging server, host file edit required:
91.146.109.70 http://www.cpmr.org cpmr.org )
Our site is in English and French (and will be in Spanish and Portugese in future so I guess this would be a problem then as well)
We have a category in English. It is translated in French and we have added the french version to a menu in the french version of the site through Menus -> Event Categories box
In english, the URL is
http://cpmr.org/events/category/political-general/
In admin area of Menus, in French, if we hover over the “Original” link, the URL is given as
http://cpmr.org/events/category/politique-general/?lang=fr
However on front end, in French, clicking on the link attempts to go to
http://cpmr.org/events/categorie/politique-general/?lang=fr
It seems something is trying to translate category to categorie… but not telling another part of the system.
Navigating directly to
http://cpmr.org/events/category/politique-general/?lang=fr
works just fine.
This an example, it happens with every category link added to menus in French
Screenshots show link indicated in bottom right on mouse hover.
Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out.
How are you implementing these multi-lingual features on your site? Are you using a plugin like WPML, qTranslate, etc., for example?
If so, we unfortunately do not support WPML or any similar multilingual plugin completely at this time, and so these sorts of features are simply not supported by The Events Calendar and its premium add-ons. 🙁
I’m sorry to disappoint!
Sincerely,
GeorgeMay 13, 2016 at 2:40 am #1114166GregParticipantHi George,
Oops, yes sorry, WPML. I have already spoken to them and they have stated I should approach yourselves.
Please could you invite Geoff B. onto this thread.
As per our previous conversation he was interested in WPML compatibility issues and might be able to assist further.
Thanks and best wishes,
Greg

I can indeed share this thread with Geoff B. To be clear, though, at this time the best way to try and use WPML and The Events Calendar together is to set things up according to this knowledgebase article ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
Geoff B. also recommends this in that thread you linked to which seems particularly helpful for the things you described above:
One final note, if you follow the WPML support staff’s suggestion and switch to the Different languages in directories option instead of the Language as a parameter option and then proceed to re-save (update your permalinks), it should solve the bug.
Right now it seems like you’re using the language as a parameter option; I would recommend the other option Geoff B. recommended, and would recommend ensuring that you set up the plugin exactly according to that knowledgebase article.
Thank you,
