    Hi Geoff,

Happy New Year, I hope you are keeping well.

Our client is experiencing some difficulty with the Venue feature in Events translated with WPML. Maybe it’s a case of process, but I’ve tried it and confirmed it doesnt work. Here is a walkthrough:

When trying to add a venue in French at least 3 update attempts are required before the venue is taken into account.

    – You create the Venue in English & then create the translated French version – so far OK.

    – You create your Event in English and add your already created venue. This works fine.

    – You then create the French translation of the event. We use overwrite for this, because copy content does not bring over the event date. However this STILL does not bring over the venue. You then try to enter your French venue from the list of venues proposed. It looks OK so you hit update.

    – After the update the French venue disappears (not taken into account).

    – You repeat the operation – enter French venue + update.

    – After several attempts at this it does eventually work, but never the first time.

Let me know if you need login details etc.

    Thanks all the best
    Greg

    Hello again Greg,

    You are absolutely right!
This bug seems to have crept in again.

I have been able to reproduce the bug.
I will relay this to our Dev immediately.

As for your PS, I will make sure the message gets fixed.
I am not sure why the system sharing is not working at this time on your install.

But you can still use the “Copy” button found on that screen and paste in a private reply for now.

That will certainly help with that.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Hello again Greg,

The bug fix is still being looked at by Dev and it has made some progress.
I just escalated it so that it gets included in the next Maintenance release.

Also, I just had another flash related to your previous thread (about tickets), sorry for bringing this up here.

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but there is already very partial integration with Event Tickets Plus.

You can get the tickets to show up, but they are not truly translations from one language to the next one. They are separate tickets (one per language) that do not share the same stock or info.

I know it’s not much, but it is a start.

Thank you for your legendary patience as we fix this.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
