ParticipantPlease help! My site as slowed down significantly in the last week or so. At times, the posts cannot even be loaded. The events calendar is a huge part of my site and I want to continue using it. As soon as I deactivate the plugin, the speed of the site goes up dramatically. I am using Events Calendar PRO 4.4.13 and WordPress 4.8. I have deactivated all plugins to check for conflicts.
Thank you!

ParticipantGood morning, Shelby!
It has nothing to do with the number of events that I have in the Events Calendar. It is something sudden that began happening just over a week ago. It just hits the database hard and slows the site down. It never did that up until that point. I even deleted a significant number of events – did nothing. I hold a licence for it and I can no longer even use it.

ParticipantHey Jodi,
Thanks for the additional information.
The next troubleshooting step I’d like you to take is to test for conflicts using the steps documented here?
Knowing the results of the conflict testing will greatly help me help you!
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantI have tested for conflicts, it works for a very short time and then, without even accessing the Event Calendar, my website slows down and won’t even load. This is really frustrating!
After using it for several years, looks like I will have to deactivate it for good and search for another option. I renewed my licence just last week; I’m wondering if I can get a refund on the money I spent.

I’m so sorry that our plugins don’t seem to be a good fit for you anymore.
You can request a refund using the form on this page.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help!

ParticipantHello, Shelby!
I have activated the Events Calendar alone (without the Pro) and it works!?! However, I really need the ability to create recurring events and have a calendar widget. Does this provide more information? The conflict arises when I activate the Pro version as well, and access an event from the calendar in the widget area.
Thank you!

ParticipantHey Jodi,
Can you please send me your system information by following the steps here? I want to take a look at your server configuration. Can you also enable WP Debugging and let me know what errors your site throws?
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantHi Jodi,
Apologies for my delay here. I took some time off, and we didnโt quite have the coverage needed for the influx of threads we had while I was gone, so I really appreciate your patience!
For some reason the system information didn’t come through. ๐ ย Would you mind copying and pasting it into a private reply so I can continue working on it?
Thanks!
Shelby ๐

ParticipantHi again Jodi,
Thanks for sharing your system information! That’s super helpful.ย ?
Would you try adding the following to your functions.php file? After reviewing your system info, and consulting a teammate of mine who sort of specializes in performance issues, I think it may help:
define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true);Let me know!
Thanks,
Shelbyย ?

ParticipantHello, Shelby!
I added that code, then re-activated Events Calendar PRO. It seemed to work all right (although a little slower than usual performance when not activated) and then within a period of time, the site just slowed down immensely, taking about 1-2 minutes just to load a page. So I de-activated the PRO plugin again. ๐
