Release Notes: Fixes, Tweaks, and New Features for Eventbrite Imports & Events Calendar PRO

This week’s maintenance release includes two notable features in addition to our regular tweaks, enhancements, and bug fixes: a new default post setting for Eventbrite imports (full details here) and a new Related Events block for Events Calendar PRO.

Not familiar with the new WordPress block editor yet? No sweat! We’ve got ya covered with these helpful resources.

Release Notes

Welcome to our Maintenance Release for the Week of 11th of February! If this is your first time getting an update from us, Maintenance Releases are smaller updates between major releases and are mostly comprised of bug fixes, tweaks, and small (but meaningful!) improvements. We always recommend using a staging site to test these changes before updating on a live site.

To see all of the changes included this Maintenance Release, check out the changelogs for all updated plugins below:

The Events Calendar 4.8.1

  • FeatureIntroduced a new “(do not override)” default post status for Eventbrite imports in Event Aggregator. This preserves events’ original statuses from Eventbrite.com upon import (e.g., “draft” events will not be automatically set to “publish” upon import)
  • Fix – Make sure the setting for “Default mobile view” is respected. Thanks to Kathleen, Tim and others for reporting this!
  • Fix – Apply block closer to price block
  • Tweak – Added new filter `tribe_aggregator_new_event_post_status_before_import` to allow for custom handling of an event’s post status before EA an import is completed
  • Tweak – Added filters: `tribe_events_admin_js_ajax_url_data`
  • Tweak – Unload Image Widget Plus version 1.0.2 or older to prevent it from creating fatals on The Events Calendar
