    Hi Jennifer,

it was actually the other way round. The breadcrumbs ONLY appeared on the events pages. And no, I could not fix the icons, I removed them.
Just now I had another look and there seemed to be a URL issue that blocked access to the fonts files, “www” was missing in the URL of the add event pages. Maybe that was it.

    Regards,
    Ralf

    Hello Jennifer,

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was related to the Events Calendar, because this only happens on those pages. I could not figure out what caused it, but found a workaround, loading fontawesome.css from a CDN.
These icons work fine on all other pages, without this fontawesome.css …

The breadcrumbs are part of the theme. They do not appear on any other page, I don’t know why they appeared here and how they can be disabled on these pages. Normal pages have a setting for that. Now I disabled breadcrumbs completely – gone.

    Regards,
    Ralf

Thanks, Victor. Client has no budget for custom development. I might have a quick look anyway.
Otherwise, Better Notification support says that this should be possible with their custom fields plugin.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I actually said it is working now, it was just a bit difficult to find the right setting in the right place. Therefore I hoped that I could find more info elsewhere.

I had to try a few places, before I found the setting that worked. But now it is indeed switching again.

Thanks for the info, Cliff. I checked known issues before posting, and now again and cannot find anything. Can you point me at the place where I can find the details, please? Thank you!

    Hi Patricia,

    Thanks for your reply.

Sometimes a translation inconsistency can cause the issue you are experiencing.
Yes, that is what the OP says in the 2 year old thread that I linked. And that is what it is.

    Events > Community: Submit event
    Yes, same faulty link.

In the language file I found what translation is expected for “add” in your link. When I use that to build my link, it works half way. It works fully, when I also use my own translation of “events” in the link.

Now I experimented a bit more and finally found that the automatically created link depends on the user language. That is the problem. When switching my user language to the site language, then the automatic link works correctly.

The automatic link needs to use the site language, not the user language.

Hi Brendan, Thanks for your reply.

It has nothing to do with conflicts. And there is no iCal link. I exported an ics from Google Calendar and converted it to csv. And then I had a very hard time importing it correctly – your import feature really deserves improvements.

Eventually I found a workaround: I removed all timezone references from the csv. So instead of “16.03.2018 19:00 CET” it is now just “16.03.2018 19:00”. Apparently the import cannot handle timezones at all. Now times are just imported as they are – works for me, fortunately, because all of my times in this file are in the same timezone.

Another problem were full day events. Import would not recognize these and just used “00:00” as times. Eventually I figured out (checking inside the database) that the full day flag is stored in the field EventAllDay and needs values of yes or no, so I manually added those to my csv. Now I’ve got everything imported correctly – a lot of work and many tries.

It would all be much easier, if The Events Calendar had an export feature. Then we could simply check what comes out and assume that import needs the same data and formats. I see no export in the backend, and in the frontend there is just the ics export, which does not work at all. If you fix that, it would help a lot.

What the frontend export currently does, is saving the whole page content, but no events.

Otherwise I like the Events Calendar Pro a lot, just annoyed be the wasted import issues time …

    See this, please:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-events-cant-add-event-error-404/

It is the same error as 2 years ago!

But what is the correct link?

    >>>> /events/community/hinzufuegen

    PLEASE fix this.

… no it doesn’t. It just ignores all settings and always sets the same wrong times.

I looked closer and found that during summer time, times are off by two hours. Apparently the import ignores the timezone info in the csv and assumes GMT for all times.

In the csv, it looks like this:
    “16.03.2018 19:00 CET”
    “07.06.2018 23:00 CEST”
