ParticipantHi Barry. I’m not exactly sure what you are asking. Are you wondering how I’m getting into these forums? If so, I’m an active license holder with a question, so I used my login to post a question. That doesn’t seem likely to be your question, so I’ll assume you mean have I had any luck getting help with my question so far. I have not, so far. But, I’m not overly concerned about it, I figured y’all are just busy. I’m still waiting for an answer, or some sort of help, if possible. Thanks.

ParticipantIt appears that the problem is fixed. I am able to import an event using its event ID, and the image associated with the event is imported. Thank you very much for your time and effort on this issue. Do I need to do anything to protect the changes made in my local file when an update for the plug-in is issued?

ParticipantThe events come in, but not the image. Once I’ve tried to import, I get the error message that you’ve seen, and the warning that “no event was created”. But, the event is actually created and is in “pending” status, but without any associated image. It does this on every event that I’ve tried to import. (I’ve tried FB pages of local organizations as well as national organizations, just to see if it was something that an inexperienced FB user was doing wrong) Just so you know, I just went and deleted the-events-calendar-facebook-importer from my plugin directory, downloaded a fresh copy from wordpress.com, and reinstalled it into the plugins directory. It still doesn’t work after doing that.

ParticipantI use virtual dedicated with media temple. Cent os 5 I think. But I’m honestly not sure.

ParticipantJonah, Yeah, I guess I need the help. I still am unable to import images when using the FB plug-in. I’m going to back up everything and send you the Username/Password so you can poke around. Give me about an hour to get that backup done.

ParticipantI’m importing remotely. I think. I’ve disabled all other plug-ins and gone back to the twenty-eleven theme to see if that helps. It didn’t.
Michael
ParticipantThanks. Corrected and now I know what to look for next time so I won’t have to bug you. Y’all rock.
Michael
ParticipantThat fixed it. Thank you very much. I don’t think it caused any other problems to appear, also. You guys rock. I finally feel that spending money on a plug-in was worth every penny. 🙂
Any clue about the dotted line “border” at the top of that widget box?

ParticipantHey, Jonah. Sorry for the delay. I’ve been out of town. Here is a sample FB ID that produces the error. 371251099638311
I get all the correct info, but the image does not import.
Here is the error text:
The following errors have occurred:“picture?type=large&access_token=404935409546807|vzHtzdfYYsK8X2vcliYSxEJvO0c” is not a valid image.
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported.January 7, 2013 at 4:50 pm in reply to: I support the conditional removal of the End Date/Time when creating a new event #30406Michael
ParticipantMay I ask another question? If so, I’ve just puchased the Facebook Events. I’m able to configure it, but it has not functioned correctly yet because of a known issue where the image is not imported, but the event IS created. Related post: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/photothumbnail-not-being-imported/.
However, the fix mentioned in that post does not work for me and I can’t seem to find any more info. I have, of course, turned off all other plug-ins and reverted to Twenty Eleven. The problem is still happening. This is the error code that I get:
The following errors have occurred:
“picture?type=large&access_token=404935409546807|vzHtzdfYYsK8X2vcliYSxEJvO0c” is not a valid image.
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported. As noted in the previous post, I am actually getting an event imported, but there is no image attached.
Any ideas?

ParticipantI’m just looking to take this forward as a new setting/option for a future version. I just wanted to put in my two cents that this would be a very helpful option to include, and as there are others that have commented similarly, but in places where I couldn’t just in because the topic was closed, I created a new topic to add my support for the request. I would find it very helpful, so please consider it for a (hopefully very near) release of the plug-in. Thanks.
