Hi Jonah, Ok I took a look at the original 74-84 lines (see this pastie – http://pastie.org/4177750) . I don’t think that will work because I don’t want to take out the entire address block I still need to direct people where to go. I just want to take out the “Country” so that it doesn’t show up on the event. It’s automatically displaying when I create a new event – this was something that didn’t happen before.

June 30, 2012 at 9:28 am in reply to: Upcoming Events Widget – Can we omit certain events from displaying? #21370LydiaMemberHi Joyce!
That worked perfectly. Just so you are aware I maintain several wordpress sites 3 of them I use calendar pro (love it) but the other two I have to use the free version. So what I do is I update both so that I have consistency with all wordpress sites. I was able to fix the category issue with the Calendar Pro ones but how would I go about making the adjust on the free version or is this the one thing that’s not offered with it? Thanks again.

Am I deleting or commenting out? (e.g. */*/
LydiaMemberHi Jonah,
Hope your well. So I was able to make the modifications and everything works from that end so thank you for that. However, what is happening now is that whenever I create a new event and I skip the (Select a country option – since all of my events are here in the us) the “select a country” appears on the event’s page without me evening touching it. In addition, for some of the events it’s forcing the “united states to come up”. Again don’t need this since I’m based in the us. Can you tell me what I need to do to remove, is it the same as the update field I did above? what is the code? I attached an image so you can see…..http://www.networkinglinks.net/images/countryus.jpg

Tried the category route as you suggested above however my widget doesn’t give me an option for categories. See attached image. Any ideas?June 23, 2012 at 5:21 am in reply to: Can the “Upcoming Events” appearing on the bottom of the event page be removed? #21097LydiaMemberHi Rob,
Thanks for the response. I took a look at the threads regarding my question and to be honest, I’m not much of a tech person. The thread was a bit confusing for me because it refers to single.php file, then the tribe_previous_event_link(); and tribe_next_event_link(); including the wrapping div then finally to customizing the css (.custom .prev_next p { display: none; }
So I’m no quite sure what to do.
What file do I use to locate to remove the Upcoming Events from appearing on the bottom of the event page? I only want to remove that bottom line of the page no-where else. Everything else works fine for our purposes and should stay the same.
Can you provide me with the file name and the actual line (what the code of the line looks like) so I can find it in the file? Thanks again.
June 2, 2012 at 10:22 am in reply to: Upcoming Events Widget – Can we change the way the time displays? #20089LydiaMemberHi Jonah,
Thanks for the response. Regarding the commenting out: is this a one-time code fix? or will this step need to be repeated each time you guys make an update to “The Events Calendar” plugin?
LydiaMemberHi Jonah,
Thank you and I will move the other two questions on two other threads.
Now at the risk of sounding like a complete buffoon, when deleting lines 47 & 48 I’m assuming you mean in the single.php that I have saved in the events folder I created…correct? The reason I ask is because line 47 & 48 in the php seems to belong to a set command, that if I delete just those two line there will be a broken link. My line 47 & 48 looks like this:
Line 45:
Line 46:
Line 47:
Line 48:<a href="mailto:”>
LIne 49:
This doesn’t seem to reflect anything about the “Update” field that I am trying to delete. Also I’m assuming that for the columns margin the same as above, make the changes in the event.css I saved to the event folder I created. Correct?
LydiaMemberHi Jonah, Yes I have the 2 pending issues that I have posted on the board that I still need help with.
1) Removing the “Updated” block
2) Adjusting the Margin
In addition, I have two follow-up questions
3) Can the “Upcoming Events” that appear on the bottom of the event page be reomoved?
4) Can the size of the featured image on a event page be increased?
See pic http://www.siddhayoganyc.org/images/Image1.jpgLydiaMemberThanks Jonah!
Hi Rob, that worked I pasted the code. It’s listed under ” For Rob Event Calendar Pro”.
LydiaMemberHi Rob! Good to hear from you. Looks like pastie.org is out of commission this is what I got:
Sorry, Pastie is offline. pastie.org was DDOSed twice last night. To protect it’s network and other customers Rails Machine has decided to no longer host and sponsor the site. I did not see this coming and did not expect my hosting company to just pull the plug so quickly.
I’m in the middle of RailsConf 2012 right now but working on a migration plan to deal with this. Hang in there, we’ll be back. I really feel bad about this. I’m just a single person running the site free of charge. I make a very minimal amount of monthly income from the ads. Probably just enough to cover hosting now that I don’t have a sponsor. I guess this is just one of the downsides of running a large, popular site, but it’s very frustrating. If anyone feels like they have the expertise to help (with DDOS stuff) please feel to reach out and contact me.Any other way? I really do need to address this …can I send you something else or use something else? Let me know. Thanks!
