  • Yes, I had to do a major database restore as well… I am now back to the two earlier versions. Now I know to always refresh the permalinks… Thanks for your good work.

    Ohh the issue on my second site https://fmcquaker.org/ is NOT SOLVED. I thought by rolling back the update to TEC 4.6.11 and to TEC Pro 4.4.23, things would work. Sadly, no… 404 errors, only a handful of events showing up in month view, though they are all still there in other views. What to do? Help please.

    On my second site https://fmcquaker.org, I did have to roll back the TEC Pro to version 4.4.23. The backend admin area with the earlier version is now working as it should.

    STILL NOT SURE why one website with the current TEC PRO version is now and the other one required a downgrade. Thoughts?

    Well, somewhat miraculously, ONE of my two sites that uses TEC Pro with the current versions decided to get over its sluggish admin area. That site is https://standrewswellesley.org/, hosted at 1and1.com. Not sure exactly what happened, but there was a message in TEC settings asking me to update geolocations for 6 venues. After the update, the admin area returned to its normal speed.

    My other site, https://fmcquaker.org/, with another hosting provider (pair.com), is still struggling. There are not geolocations to update.

    Well…

    I had already altered that very line of CSS because the cover photo titles of my events were not showing in list view on mobile. The code that your staff suggested to resolve that very problem looks to have brought on this other situation. Below is the code that is in the custom CSS now”

    @media only screen and (max-width: 800px) {
    h3.entry-title.summary, .tribe-events-calendar .tribe-events-has-events:after {
    display: inline-block !important;
    }
    }

    =======================

    The current code says display the code you suggest says don’t display. I can mostly live with the situation as it is. Yet, on another similar site that I manage, https://standrewswellesley.org I don’t have the first or the second problem and no custom CSS to make it different either.

    What do you know?

    Attached is the screen capture mentioned in my recent reply…

    in reply to: Black dots under events in mobile view #1463891

    Greetings Jaime,

    The dots appear in the mobile view of the full calendar. Because this was happening, I set the default mobile view to “list”. So, for the link, use the Chrome browser and then go to the calendar page at:

    https://fmcquaker.org/calendar/

    Once there, use Chrome’s “inspect” link and then click the “toggle device” icon and select a mobile phone from the drop down menu on the top.

    Below is a screen capture, showing the dots which as I see from the inspect indicates that the given day “has events”.

    I have tried to find the CSS tag for a “display: none;” but as yet I have not been successful.

    Thanks for your help.

    Update on my downgrade. I rolled back to the previous versions of both The Events Calendar (v.4.6.10.1) and the TEC Pro (4.4.22), but I got 404 Page Not Found errors on the single event posts. I updated back to the current The Events Calendar (v.4.6.11) and the 404s went away, but the venues and organizers only had feature images, no google map, no event posts happening in that venue listed. Sigh.

    How best should I downgrade? Is there a particular version pair of TEC and TEC pro that will work together. As of yet not a terribly big issue in the scheme of things, but I really did like the functionality provided which is now lost.

    Thank you again.

    Thank you. Yes, it was indeed a media call, but why would it work in one installation and not in another? My previous calendar install works fine and does not have that particular CSS media call.

    All is well here for now… You create a great calendar app!

    in reply to: List view sorting by creation date not by event date #1408914

    Wanting to keep my client happy, I’ve rolled back to the previous update, TEC 4.6.7 and TEC Pro at 4.4.19. All is well on the sorting order.

    Please fix in the next update…

    Otherwise I REALLY really like TEC in all it does.

    Well, I’ve tried changing the creation date, BUT sadly no difference in sort order. While the order is the same every time I refresh the list, I cannot figure out by what criteria it is sorting (if at all).

    in reply to: List view sorting by creation date not by event date #1408895

    Just by the way. I will be rearranging the Christmas category list, so it may look like it is in date event order, but it is pulling from creation date for its ordering.

    Fixed! I was using the Chrome browser (MacOS) and then switched to the Safari browser, all was well. I flushed the Chrome cache and now all is well again. All done. No need for your help.

    I do want to add that I really, really enjoy the events calendar! Thank you for your good work.

    Greetings again Geoff,

    The Avada Support Team came through with a fix in the class-avada-helper.php located in /wp-content/themes/Avada/includes directory. I’ve attached a screen shot of the changed code for your reference. At this point, without specifically addressing the issue in the next major Avada update (they do patches several times a week, but not a major update), I have backed up the file and will need to reload it if it gets overwritten by the new Avada theme version.

    Otherwise, I think we can close this thread and thank you for your help here.

    Jonathan

    Thank you Geoff. Again, clarity is sometimes difficult in these written interactions. I do have a functions.php that I found on The Events Calendar themeing guide where I can edit what appears in the title. I have modified the month view to be “Calendar for <given month>” rather than the default “Events for…” as shown in your screenshot.

    Theme-fusion folks say they have understood my problem and that the developers are looking to fix it with an upcoming patch. I await their solution.

    BUT, what exact version of the theme were you using to create the screenshot you included in your last post? The current Avada theme us at 5.0.6 with patches to #415118.
