IvanParticipant
I give up. I’m done with this.
I would like a refund on my add-on please.
IvanParticipantI ordered the plugin in August, and so far it’s yet to work properly. I reported the bug almost right away, and was completely dismissed and run through hoops. It took from August to December to EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE that a bug existed. Now, almost 2 months later, still no updates or fixes.
In all this time, I’m unable to truly use/launch the site with the calendar (the entire site is built around this calendar), so we’re looking at likely more than half of the license year I ordered being completely lost.
If it takes 4 months to acknowledge the bug (y’know, to actually listen to me) and another 2+ to fix it (still no fix in sight), at what point can I expect some recompense??
I’d like to suggest that time is now. That I’ve been patient enough, that I be given — at MINIMUM — a full year renewal on my license free of charge beginning at the end of this license year. At least.
Thanks,

IvanParticipantHi,
Any progress on this?
IvanParticipantOk, see individual responses and comments below in bold:
Thanks so much for providing me with all of this information!
As far as this URL goes (webcal://www.facebook.com/ical/u.php?uid=118506&key=AQB21ZVkzlsMMkKc), I was unable to reproduce the error that you are seeing and was able to import the feed as expected.
Ok, perhaps it’s being added successfully now, but it’s still not importing any events. That goes for both calendars. They are importing zero events. The FB calendar is still spinning wheel and says “your import is in process” that just goes on and on and doesn’t stop.In that case, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
Deactivated all plugins (there was only one in play besides yours) -
A conflict with your WordPress theme
Reverted to 2017 and 2015. Issue persisted -
A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
Again, did this
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
This is all totally over my head, and so you’re losing me. I’m not a developer. Also, can you try changing your Month View Events per day to a positive number (like 2 or 3). You can find this under Events Settings < Display.
Did this, not changeAfter doing so, you may also want to flush your permalinks by going to Settings < Permalinks and Save Changes.
I saw no place to “flush” permalinks, but I went to the page, and simply clicked “save changes”.Seems like you’re a. asking me to do things I’ve already done before even contacting support (revert themes, turn off plugins, etc.) or b. asking me to do things that might fall under wp expert stuff. I’m not an expert. I paid for a plugin. It has yet to work with any consistency.
I’m attaching a few screenshots. These show calendars with items on them (e.g. on Jan 13), and the import showing 0 imports.
IvanParticipantThanks! Really appreciate you letting me know!
IvanParticipantThanks. Yeah, the screenshot is small and skinny, so easy to miss, but it’s there (at least for me). I’ve attached it again. And here is the screenshot in another place:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o0X305QMlVnMRUDgu0zDecNrD3Vdi7WL/view?usp=sharingAnd here is a video of me executing the steps in order to reproduce the issue:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d_efmhURmN7XoHdsyyVIGDhFCrpoyrSs/view?usp=sharingThe debug stuff is over my head, but I think I get the basic gist. If you can give me step-by-step instructions I’m sure I can do it. But as it is that’s not enough info for me to go in and do php stuff. Sorry.
Here is the URL with the issue
1. webcal://www.facebook.com/ical/u.php?uid=118506&key=AQB21ZVkzlsMMkKc. Note that when I paste the other listed url: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=gu423r4bfd3jcvpls972ph1dif2ofoao%40import.calendar.google.com&ctz=America%2FLos_Angeles
I get this error: “There was an error fetching the results from your import: Events could not be imported. The URL provided did not have events in the proper format.”Couple more notes: it’s been saying this since this morning. Seems to be trapped in this status:
“Your import is currently in progress. Don’t worry, you can safely navigate away–the import will continue in the background.” Literally been like 6 hours of it doing that now.So, what next?
I’ve enabled event log before doing the steps again (as seen in the video). Here is that stuff pasted:

4.7.4IvanParticipantThank you!
Awaiting word.
IvanParticipantJust to be clear: whenever you first switch to a different date (other than today’s), changing the orientation reverts back to a. today’s date if you’re selecting from the current month, or b. the 1st of the month if you’re selecting from within a future month. Can you be sure you’re trying that?
This has actually never not happened to me, and I just checked in on 4 different iPhones. Tried it using Safari and Chrome. But, that said, I’m so glad to hear you guys acknowledge the bug. Thank you!
If you can please see the video I posted here of the bug in action I would be appreciative: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f1inV4qrNu5362k2kJ4AbYonzmv9NFbL/view?usp=sharing
IvanParticipantI’m not sure what you mean by mobile-desktop exchange. For sure when you take your phone from landscape to portrait orientation, it reverts the date. It’s not an acceptable situation.
I’ll look into the jquery thing, but I wish info and meaningful attention was more forthcoming from you guys about this. It’s not like it should just be my problem to solve.
IvanParticipantWell, the calendar doesn’t render the same way on other themes, so testing it on other themes is a moot point. Definitely tested it with other plugins deactivated.
Are you please able to just direct me to where in that js-min file my developer can locate the resize event?
That would be most efficient.
Thanks,
IvanSeptember 25, 2017 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Calendar View Shows NO EVENTS – List View Shows Events #1354721IvanParticipantJust updated the plugin and it appears to be working.
Thanks.

IvanParticipantThanks. I’ll look into this. To be clear, whenever there are updates to the plugin, my changes will be overwritten, correct?
How often are there updates to either the calendar or the aggregator?
IvanParticipantHey! Ok, please read below for several questions and inquiries. Thanks in advance for your help.
First off, that .php snippet worked, except there’s a weird bug-like thing:
When a date in the future is selected, if you resize the window a bit, or if you move your phone from vertical to horizontal, the date snaps back to ‘today.’ So there’s no way to move the window and stay on a selected future date. Any ideas for a quick fix to that? Also, I would like to get a few more changes to the plugin, and I’m wondering if you guys could offer support on the following, or if I’d need to hire somebody?
1. REMOVE TEXT DESCRIPTION CHARACTER COUNT
Currently, the plugin displays a certain amount of text from the item description before it displays a “[…].” I’d like to remove that restriction so that I can truncate with CSS. Wondering if you can make it so there is no limit to the amount of text that is displayed.2. DISPLAY LOCATION IN EVENT TITLE HEADING
I would like to display the location name of each event within heading of each event. So, currently, it displays event title, and event time/date, but the location is only viewable after clicking through to that event’s landing page. I’d like each entry to show: Event title, event date/time, event location. So you see all that key info before having to click through to the individual page of that event.3. DISPLAY UPCOMING DAYS ALWAYS
Currently, if you select a date that doesn’t have an event, it’s just blank. I would like for, no matter what date is selected, for the subsequent 10 days to appear below that. So, if I selected September 8, and there was nothing, it would still show events from September 9-19 below. (I plan to probably limit that number later, but in css, so I’m saying 10 to cover my bases). Thanks for your time and effort in helping me achieve the best out of the plugin!!

IvanParticipant1. On mobile, the calendar is present with dots beneath the dates to indicate events on that date. Selecting a date shows the info in a list below the calendar without going to a separate page. To see what I”m talking about, simply look at the calendar from a mobile phone. I want that behavior on desktop too, such that the calendar picker is present next to the text, and selecting a date makes the events list change according to that date, but keeps you on that page. Not sure if I can explain it any better. Hopefully that’s enough. I added a mock up of my site design to show you how it should look.
2. The list view issue is happening when in the settings, under “enable events view” if i select only list. When I do that, no information displays on the site. In order to remove the error saying there are no events, I MUST select one of the others in order to make it work. This seems to be a bug. Again, I really don’t know how to better explain it. List works when multiple options under “enable events view” are selected, but if I choose ONLY list, no information displays.
