ParticipantHey Casey! That additional snippet did the trick. Hopefully this will be the last time you hear from me in the short term! 🙂
Thanks again!

ParticipantOk thanks. It looks like the Event Website label is now correctly only showing up for only that url. Thanks for catching that error in the function!
One last thing – how can I get custom link labels for my Additional Fields?irishrunner16

ParticipantSorry about that Casey; thought private just meant that only members could view it! I’ve changed it to unlisted so hopefully you can view it now.

ParticipantThanks so much for the recommendation Brook! If/when we move forward with having the CSV Importer extended I’ll definitely let you guys know and hopefully we can work out some type of an arrangement.

ParticipantThanks Snorton and Barry! I’m a novice at coding, so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to simply import the url’s as “_OrganizerWebsite” and then replace those in the database table as being “_EventURL” for the meta_key…but I see that won’t be possible since the Organizer Website is mapped to a different post_id.
I’ll need to ask around for some further direction or possibly hire a developer to assist. Thanks!

ParticipantThanks Kelly. In my testing I was able to upload the events themselves without any problems; the issue I’m having is with the “venues” and “organizers” csv files.
For example, if the venue location is in different states and has different values for the address, city, state and zip, the tool will still overwrite one of the rows if they both have the same “venue name” (such as Heritage Park).
The same problem exists if there are two organizers with the same name (such as “John Smith”). Even if the other organizer data does not match, having the same “organizer name” will cause the other rows to use the incorrect data.
So it looks like I’ll need to do some manual editing and add additional text to the Venue Name and Organizer Name to ensure that those which shouldn’t be viewed as duplicates are not.
Perhaps a future enhancement to the CSV Importer would be to only overwrite the item/row if ALL of the location (venue name, address, city, state, etc) or organizer (organizer name, email, etc) values match, instead of only going by the name field?

ParticipantSo I tried importing a few duplicates as a test and I did find that the importer only allows one occurrence of each venue name and organizer name; if there’s more than one row with the same value, it overwrites the previous ones with the last occurrence.
Is there a workaround to import events that occur on different dates but may have the same venue name or organizer name?

ParticipantHi,
You can set this option by going to Events > Settings. Then click on the Display tab and you’ll see a drop-down option for Default View. Select Week and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page to save your settings. Hope this helps!
