ParticipantThanks Nico 🙂

ParticipantThanks for your reply Nico – is there any way I can test this out without purchasing the plugin? Whether it works or not may be a deal breaker for my (prospective) client. Or perhaps if it doesn’t work and the deal IS broken would I qualify for a refund?
Thanks,
ChrisChris Adams
ParticipantHi Cliff,
Yes that is the same checkbox I am referring to.
When I tested this with it unchecked, then went to my Google Calendar and updated an existing (not recurring) event, nothing was changed after the auto import ran. When I then checked this box, updated Google Calendar again and waited for the auto import to run, the event was modified on the website (TEC Pro) – so it looked like the checkbox was relating specifically to updating any event that is on the website with any modification made at source (in this case Google Calendar)…
So my initial query here is that it *seems* by ticking this box an updated at source event writes over the one that has been imported in the plugin, no matter if it is recurring or not… which for my purposes suits just fine – the whole point of having a Google Calendar that is informing the website is so that only one calendar needs to be maintained.
HOWEVER if this is a glitch and it needs to ONLY work for recurring events (and so will be modified down the line) then it’d be good to know so I can make provisions this end for that?
Thanks,
ChrisChris Adams
ParticipantThanks Cliff, still a little confused though – what’s the ‘overwrite recurring’ checkbox for and why does it only appear when you’ve got tec pro installed?

ParticipantHey Geoff, Just before I do this (it is exciting!) can I just check the code you sent there – it seems empty aside from a commented out bit of copy:-

*/If that IS what I need to do then cool, but I feel something may be missing here!?

ParticipantOk Thanks Geoff, fingers crossed for a *quick* resolution…

ParticipantI’m also keen to have this resolved asap and in fact other iCal importer issues discussed elsewhere… I really love the plugins and in particular the great support but these are significant issues that do need addressing asap here.
Thanks,

(Re above – the new issue I was going to start a thread about is already solved on this thread here – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/widget-upcoming-events/ – thanks Brian – that one was you!!)October 22, 2015 at 1:39 pm in reply to: iCal import from Google Calendar not showing All Day Events #1017092Chris Adams
ParticipantHey Brian,
Having a few issues with Adminer (though I think it may have been server performance related). Also having issues being able to spend time on this as I have another project with tighter deadlines… and one in fact that I have another TEC issue with that I’m going to start a new thread about.
Will be back on here re this issue once I have done as you have suggested by the way.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Brian, sorry about the delay in getting back to you – other projects getting in the way.
So – following the initial import I then deleted and emptied the trash so there are no events in the calendar. Every time I try to then re-import the events (so step 1 – hit the search button with nothing selected or changed in terms of the ‘Refine results’), whether it’s a one time OR a recurring import I just get ‘Your search returned no results. Please adjust your search.’ message… So no luck here….
Does this mean I can’t now import this calendar at all?? -
